My advice (or what has worked for me) - chase new opportunities.
Very rarely will you get huge raises by sticking around somewhere. I have only had 3 full time jobs, each one for no more than 2 years. But each new job paid better, so that I have tripled my income in 5 years.

For the first time in a very longtime I am rollin' thick in money, it is like feast or famine for me... I actually feel really guilty, considering the US economy is tanking, 6 percent unemployment, 2 wars, etc... I have a bitter sweat taste of success in my mouth, I will enjoy it while it last. Nothing in life last forever, particularly when one comes from humble beginnings such as myself....

^Yeah Minnesota paid a lot better than jobs here in Colorado, but hey, I love it here so it's worth a pay cut.

i make 9 figure today. Dow rally boosted my over all bottom line. I guess the question what do I with all this money. Should I buy a jet again? I just sold mine because I am not using it. Maybe another house in the Hamptons.
