It's kabuki theater. Love to see such an opinionated guy like deathboy fall for it.

During the Bush administration, when a budget surplus tuned to deficit and debt piled up, Republican leaders in Congress voted to raise the debt ceiling 5 times, increasing the limit nearly $4 trillion. We’re talking about Speaker John Boehner, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Senate Minority Whip Jon Kyl. Combined, they voted 19 times for a debt ceiling increase without complaint or conditions.

June 2002: Congress approves a $450 billion increase, raising the debt limit to $6.4 trillion. McConnell, Boehner, and Cantor vote “yea”, Kyl votes “nay.”

May 2003: Congress approves a $900 billion increase, raising the debt limit to $7.384 trillion. All four approve.

November 2004: Congress approves an $800 billion increase, raising the debt limit to $8.1 trillion. All four approve.

March 2006: Congress approves a $781 billion increase, raising the debt limit to $8.965 trillion. All four approve.

September 2007: Congress approves an $850 billion increase, raising the debt limit to $9.815 trillion. All four approve.

So raising the debt ceiling to kill muslims is a fucking ok. Got it. Check.

Furthermore, WTF? Why should there be any compromise on this issue. The US debt is guaranteed in two - TWO - sections of the US Constitution - in Article 1 of the original document and again clearly in the 14th Amendment (section 4). This "debt ceiling" is frankly unconstitutional - it's a Congressional restriction not grounded in the Constitution.

All Obama has to say is "No, fuck you. If you guys won't get your shit together I will use the power of the Executive to carry out the law as outlined in the Constitution and make sure US debts are backed by the full faith and credit of the US." and order the Treasury to do what it needs to do. If the Republicans want to bitch about it they can take it to the courts where they will certainly lose. Congressional restrictions don't trump the Constitution. Of course, with the Roberts court...

Anyway, it's all fucking bullshit. Obama is an utter sellout. He's Herbert Hoover meets Ronald Reagen. He's giving the Republican dicks everything they ever wanted - a roll back of the New Deal. Yet they snicker and call him "socialist" or whatever. Obama is more Bush than Bush. Fucking neoconservative asshole in sheep's clothing.
