This is one of the weirdest columns I ever read
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp…
Keep in mind this isn't some random crackpot but David Broder, regarded as the "sensible" voice of the political center by the American media
- yikes, I think that would pretty much kill America as we know it.IRNlun6

Your really missing the point. Put blueones figures in context of what this country has gone through, and is still going through in the past few years.

oh and blue im not trying to insult you on the fight stuff. cnaps is havibng fun. i wasnt trying to get in on that and i wanted to say im just pointing out what looked like a possible emotional/mental type thing that can distort rational thought. kinda liek the good pal that will tell you when you have a gross whitehead on your face, then just let you find out yourself. We all have our issues, but knowing them is important. And what we do with them and handle them.
- I am having fun! Can anyone take anything, left or right for real! Come on!********
- i get your fun. i see no harm.********
- im actually a tad jealous i cant have as much fun....probably becuase i know certain peopel are serious.********

If rich getting richer is so awesome...why not just take that to the logical conclusion and move to a monarchy?
Let the powerful be powerful and the rest be weak.
That's the foundation that original right was built on as well as extremist versions of the right like fascism.
- how do you think a king would feel if a peasant made more then him?********
- How would he use the law he ran? simple psych really. People get jealous? explain hows it bad********
- tell me how mutual agreements are wrong. and how you have anything to do with a agreement your not part of********
- of.********
- how do you think a king would feel if a peasant made more then him?

Anyone ever get hired by a poor guy???
Usually you get a job, thru a company, where, some times, someone had to work hard to start from scratch, build up...does well for themselves, becomes rich or just well off enough to hire some people!!!
Seems like we need the rich to get richer.

@deathboy I am not emotional at all. I am being quite clearheaded. When someone calls me a pussy, I offer them to prove it. If he won't meet me in a boxing ring, then there is only one yellow pissing pussy in this thread. That's just honor. No emotion. I'm just calling him on the fact that he loves to throw around personal insults but has the tiny testicles to not want to back it up.
Oh and I really like the way you make out the guy who calmy asks someone to back up their insults as "emotional" yet the guy who posts reams of insults in cap lock and deragotory pics for page on end is somehow not. Typical rightwing gameplay there. You both bore me.
@cnaps
"Rich bad! Must fight rich!!!!" You don;t get it. I'm not surprised by your incredible lack of comprehension in general. Nothing bad with being rich, but as my quote and the linked article make clear the income disparity is growing higher, that the wealth class actually shrank, but it's proportion of wealth control grew. Meanwhile personal, private property is getting consolidated in fewer and fewer hands, leading to a rentier economic model. That'd be feudalism to you. You would easily see the outlines of the structure if you've read Adam Smith, Ricardo or Marx.
This is getting to
- well of course your not a vagina. a human is not a vagina. thats not rationale********
- its how you see youraself how you judge his comments. when he calls you a pussy you react to social norm of coward.********
- if you werent a coward or werent calle dit in past or soemthign and didnt car eyou would react differently********
- its really simple. why a smart nigger doesnt get pissed when called a nigger. or cracker or heeb********
- but im glad you see nothign wrong with wealth disparity. so dont sweat it. you just live your life withotu need to compare********
- and its not rightwing gameplay just simple freudian psych shit probably. and think about how rationale honor is********
- especially im the bushido sense. its more of s social condition rather then reason.********
- not to say you cant have both but reason allows you to knwo when you make the calls and yes even though its irrational you drew a line there insteead of callign it calm rational********
- you know better and dont try to play it off as rational. what mad eyou get into fighting. assume you fight becuas eof gym location?********
- actually your "bored" and its a public forum i cant see you really being honest. i dont liek to air my faults publicly either********
- but if addressed i have the honor not to lie to myself********
- and im against wealth gaps created by biz/gov support. banks/fed. or cases like in china********
- china is interesting in using its small cheap labor populace to boost national economy. that working socialism.********
- well of course your not a vagina. a human is not a vagina. thats not rationale
- ukit0
^ Oh yeah, because we've seen how much jobs have grown in that past couple years right? hahahahahaha

Of course the obvious answer to what I said earlier is...of course we don't want to institutionalize privilege like in a monarchy. We just don't want to impede it. We want a free market system where everyone has a chance and because of that there are winners and losers.
Well, the question is whether everyone does have a chance. The concern is that we are moving further into a system where the rich have monarchy-like control...the deck is stacked against the rest of us covered up with the fig leaf of "free market capitalism."
- they can only have control through a govt. the downside of freemarkets is they lead to facism, and the antithesis of sorts socialism********
- sorts socialism. a healthy capitalism system is the balance. a balance isnt extreme and will shift********
- it will lean one way or other. thats all tjhat can be said generally about it i guess********
- There's another potential alternative, which is socialist libertarianismukit
- define that. another thign with words is theyre symbols and in politics its hard to understand what someone means by broad terms********
- terminology. i can only guess at what you may mean by that as a whole. i can comment better on an example where is tand********
- stand********
- they can only have control through a govt. the downside of freemarkets is they lead to facism, and the antithesis of sorts socialism
- ukit0
When you frame it as a free market of course it appeals to people like cnaps and deathboy. When you frame it as a monarchy somehow I doubt most people would be in favor of it.
So the question is which do we really live under. A system where there is free competition in most industries, or a system where one or two huge corporations dominate most industries, and also the government agencies that regulate them. Do most people who get rich come out of nowhere or are they just rich because their parents were rich?
- im with you when it comes to the monarchy part. that can only come with dirty politcians.********
- look at obama corn ethanol. bought and paid for for his own means********
- Right, so which party is more likely to bring that about? IMO, it's definitely the Republicansukit
- in the case of busienss vs gov. gov is parent, they hold sole authority on rules. corp is kids. i blame the authority people********
- Since they are even more corrupt and subserviant to special interests than the Demsukit
- and i blame the kids bribing. but i hold the authority higher. like a parent lettign a kid drink alcohol********
- you think im not agaisnt the monarchies you speak of that i haev to chosoe a side. im saying there is no side to be had********
- i dont take party into whos more corrupt. how would that even be measured. i take indivudal actions form peopel on philosophy********
- based on the philosophy********
- If one party is dramatically worse, then it only makes sense to take note of itukit
- ukit jefferson understood the corruptability of men my seperation of business and such was so important********
- i take no not eof party only individuals actions hiding behind party is bs generalizations********
- and only good generally speaking. in this case right uses power to get rich, dems prefer to get power********
- my general view which cant be held as false or true. only as one judges individuals reponses. for every left their is an equal right likely********
- a equal right misjustice likely. and thats on an individual level. can only talli individual acts that you know********
- I don't know what you mean, individual actions. Parties generally vote as a block on many issues.ukit
- Your view of politicians as individual principled people is very quaint.ukit
- its collective vs individual. how to weigh and measure how to relatively look at things********
- a republican votes for a democrat. that would contradict the generalization.********
- so you take that at different relativies. on this level its this on and individual level you can get closer to truth********
- evil vs good without relating the different shades of grays to + or - on a scale. and the fact scales can be different..********
- i guess brings us down to philospohical beliefs and such. do you have a philosophy? a certian ethicla guideline to live by?********
- im with you when it comes to the monarchy part. that can only come with dirty politcians.

Funny as hell

Top Republicans in Washington and in the national GOP establishment say the 2010 campaign highlighted an urgent task that they will begin in earnest as soon as the elections are over: Stop Sarah Palin.
There is rising expectation among GOP elites that Palin will probably run for president in 2012 and could win the Republican nomination, a prospect many of them regard as a disaster in waiting.
.
So what does that say about your average everyday Republican? Bunch of dumb asses, it seems, even the Republican leadership thinks so.
- you'd think the repubs would look for someone who could represent themselves as smartmoldero
- after the whole bush thing, then they bust out Sarah Pmoldero
- palin is an idiot. i think she sees mor emoney toeing the line for popularity and entertainment contracts********
- she strikes me as wanting money not power. the peopel wanting power are the scary people to me. and if she got the green light********
- the green light she would only help those power hungry people more. she'd personally benefit from it********
- and personally i wouldnt forsake people for my own gain, but when you look at the dog eat dog and negaitivty of such shit********
- such shit its hard not to say fuck yout olls give ill ride you for all its worth********
- of cours ei dont vote. i see it all as a coll kid game. and i see no real candidates or a populace capable to make decision what is good********
- a decision on what is good or what not. theyre so party based football teamed mentality douches********
- You mean dooshesukit
- well if you take my douches as your dooshes sure. a plain insult based on intelligence then sure********
- Im gonna donate to her pactJosev
- oops "PAC" I meantJosev
- monkeyshine0
maybe this whole tea party thing is a brilliant strategy to make Sarah Palin look sane and...well, not smart exactly but not quite as dumb as Christine O'Donnell....she can run in 2012.
- i think of it only as sidetracking entertainment. politics as us weekly********
- i think of it only as sidetracking entertainment. politics as us weekly
- ukit0
I'm just sayin....Republicans now believe Palin can win the nomination unless they bury her.
What does that say about Republican voters?
- idiots. but i thoguht the same way for obama supporters. however obama told better lies********
- he talked the talk. if i voted id have voted for him. had a feeling it was all bs, and it came true.********
- I dunno about that, he followed through on most of what he campaigned onukit
- not on healthcare but net neutrality, pro choice, stem cell. those kinds of things.********
- he had a great speech writer. but figured they were jsut words. and what i didnt liek was what he went for********
- Wait what do you mean, he did greenlight stem cell research. Pro choice I have no idea what you're talking about there.ukit
- Also the government fought hard to defend net neutrality (and we still have NN, but the debate is on going)ukit
- It was a court decision, Comcast vs U.S. Gov, that was the biggest setback for themukit
- prochoice is more state vs fed so hes limited. NN govs writing laws for on copyright protection with big biz. Whcih can go either way. But no word.********
- either way but no wrod in the dark. Stem cell (no source on hand) he wrote rules for that actually hinders it.********
- Maybe bi partisanship ship to gain favor for primary healthcare. i dont know. But ot happy with********
- stem cell http://www.wired.com… only source i had but dissapointing if true. not a researcher so hard to tell********
- but thats politics a lot of bullshit and false promises for votes... why i dig this futurama http://www.youtube.c…********
- when a populace can abstain form gains to their selfs, on what is right i likely will never vote. will it happen probably unlikely********
- idiots. but i thoguht the same way for obama supporters. however obama told better lies
- ukit0
I mean, I didn't necessarily support Hillary Clinton's campaign but I could understand why people liked her, she was clearly qualified, etc.
I didn't support Ron Paul but he had some appealing ideas, and I could understand why people supported him.
But Palin? I mean cmon people... you want to believe Americans aren't that stupid but apparently they are.
- palin killed any mccain suppoort i had, but so did his politics.********
- ron pauls auditing the fed is silly. of couse the books wont ad up. What would that do for the people?********
- we need that illusion and need to fix it on the backend. That as a campoaign point is primarily that. I get what he was doing but turned me off********
- but turned me off. it was lip talk for the idiotic masses. i do think there would have been no follow through i jsut dont liek that kind of game********
- that kind of game********
- Agreed. And its always easier for someone like Paul or Kucinich to sound idealistic given they have no responsibility.ukit
- real responsibility over tough decisions.ukit
- but healthcare being ponzi schme and not jsut words but action? easyier to judge on actions********
- but lots of peopel dont think hc is such a ponzi schme. rationally it is. and instead of fixing ss medicare medicaid it added a burden********
- added a giant burden that all other countries are trying to deal with. free care gets votes but how will it work********
- palin killed any mccain suppoort i had, but so did his politics.
- utopian0
Are there any viable Republican candidates for President at this time besides Sarah Palin?
- Nopeukit
- 'besides'??... she's far from viable... she's out to scrape some cash off for herself now... I think she should show some titsPonyBoy
- i liek guys liek the pauls. but when they play politics i get tunred off. how can you get votes and not play poltics. catch22 for me********
- its a catch22. liek rand paul i dont think cares for tea party but "accepts" support for votes.********
- hell i bet id liek obama and bush as peopel minus politics. i bet theyd both make sense. political part is what i hate********
- i beleive this but am going to say this for these votes then say this for those and then sya opposite for this...what did i want********
- believe in? and how should i push it now i have these votes but have to maintian these thigns for them and this for those********
- that... voter edu supports todays candidates. if you want better candidates up the edu********
- i think romney will make a strong run if he runs on fixing the economyBonSeff
