funny how Americans still think they live in a democracy
- ********0
Funny how you don't comprehend the true essence of a democracy.
- neither do you obviously. Two shit choices that work for the same corrupted regime. Great.********
- < listens to and believes conspiracy theories.********
- Trust me, you and your country know nothing about democracy.********
- Leave it the nation that revolutionized and perfected it.... the U.S.********
- It's a democracy, if you can keep it.TheBlueOne

- Notice how different this guys recap of the Tea Parties and the Glenn Beck rally, relative this Stewart-Colbert..IRNlun6
- Tea Party sounds great at face value but then look at the representatives they're electing. Actions speak louder than words.IRNlun6
- ... words.IRNlun6
- ? i just think its easy to pick out idiots in a crowd. colbert would be proud.********
- anyways i think the point was to show the same thing on the other side of the fence. both are retarded********
- Yeah, I agree with you there. Just don't think he covered this rally in the same way as others. Seemed condescending to me.IRNlun6
- yea was condescending for sure. but doesnt change the fact that what he asked and said wasnt the truth********
- yes it owuld have been more insightful to ask smarter people quality questions and provide dialogue. but i dont think it was the objective********
- the main objective. for entertainment purposes i was amused********

The Republican Party could use some adults
by Dana Milbank
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp…"...there are no authority figures to say "no" to the angry, the rude and the violent. With a House leader determined not to compromise, and a Senate leader whose top national priority is the defeat of the president, things won't get any better after Tuesday."

http://blogs.abcnews.com/thenote…
"ABC's Jonathan Karl reports: A high-level GOP source tells me that party leaders have essentially given up on Republican Senate candidate Joe Miller and are now banking on a victory by write-in candidate Lisa Murkowski as the best bet for Republicans to keep the Alaska Senate seat. "
Wow - so out of the candidates most associated with the "Tea Party" - Joe Miller, Christine O'Donnell, Rand Paul, Linda McMahon, and Sharon Angle - only one (Paul) is favored to win at this point. Maybe Angle or Miller will squeak it out.
In four of those cases (O'Donnell, Angle, Miller and McMahon) the Republicans (the voters, not the leadership) more or less killed their chances by nominating a candidate that was too extreme.
It looks like this election will be a win for the Republicans but a failure for libertarian/Tea Party candidates. Of course, the Tea Party served its purpose - by giving the GOP a marketing gimmick (freeedaam!) to persuade people they were a different party from the one run by George Bush.

The Case for Obama
By Tim Dickinson
http://www.rollingstone.com/poli…"The charges are familiar: He's a compromiser who hasn't stood up to the GOP or Wall Street. But a look at his record reveals something even more startling — a truly historic presidency"
- hes a failure for the health stuff in my eyes.... but time will tell. maybe it will be over ridden.********

Meanwhile, the rich are richer.
"The number of Americans making $50 million or more, the top income category in the data, fell from 131 in 2008 to 74 last year. But that’s only part of the story.
The average wage in this top category increased from $91.2 million in 2008 to an astonishing $518.8 million in 2009. That’s nearly $10 million in weekly pay!
You read that right. In the Great Recession year of 2009 (officially just the first half of the year), the average pay of the very highest-income Americans was more than five times their average wages and bonuses in 2008. And even though their numbers shrank by 43 percent, this group’s total compensation was 3.2 times larger in 2009 than in 2008, accounting for 0.6 percent of all pay. These 74 people made as much as the 19 million lowest-paid people in America, who constitute one in every eight workers."
- explain how rich getting richer is wrong or bad? what percentage do they pay of all taxes? and isnt it good meaning more tax money********
