I hate Fox News graphics package with a passion. It's one of the reasons I can't even watch that channel (among other obvious reasons). The logos they have for the different shows are puke-able. Type is horribly laid. I used to find myself just staring at the different mistakes and not even being able to listen to the people (probably a good thing).

- haha, yeh I get totally distracted into mentally amending it all - couple of nudges left, make that bigger..mikotondria3

...and the Obama infomercial is on...

is anyone else get misty watching this infomercial?

"I've been tested"
This oft repeated line by McCain is making me ill. Tested? Does he mean the fact he was a POW? OK, brave and I respect him greatly for that. But to suggest that this gives him the high ground when it comes to leading the USA is absolutely fanciful.
If you applied the same logic, then very few Presidents would have been qualified in any way whjatsoever to serve.

- Exactly my point.BusterBoy

Not bad. I just fear that come 2012 we'll have to deal with all sorts of these infomercials. It sets a precedent....
Interesting, gutsy move...
- waterhouse0
It isn't that gutsy. Ross Perot did it in '92 with similar reserves of money. Any candidate with as much cash as these two would likely do this.

The Obama 30 minute special really wasn't half bad and informative in some places. I definitely was expecting it to underwhelm. Production and music was a bit predictable, but I give it a B+.

was pretty polished. the one thing he did in this piece, that any true leader does, is always promote and never defend your position. that is the reason he is going to own this
- waterhouse0
being a guest pundit on cable news has to be a job you apply for, right?

It was good but no overly polished... the editing was less than smooth in many places which gave it a coherent but amateurish feel despite the strings. I'm sure they could have a remade reaganesque "morning in america' but elected instead to show the cost of the economy's problems to people who hadn't been touched by them before. I liked I did not feel they were props. Difficult to do.
He linked to his campaign the solutions he proposes. I believe him.- Kinda hard to sell "morning in america" in a financial crisis...TheBlueOne

The best part of Obama's campaign?
That no swift-boating was required to get to where he is today.- high road will make it possible for him to lead after election.********

I thought it was excellent

I thought it came off as very honest. It's not going to win an Emmy or anything, but I can't think of how it could have been any better. It should seal the deal on this thing.

This "Joe the Plumber" is now a foreign affairs expert...for crying out loud, that is just downright offensive and scary. He's got to be on the RNC payroll doesn't he?
Surprisingly, Sheppard Smith from Fox goes after him in this interview.

The memo from McCain pollster Bill McInturff makes for some fascinating reading, particularly this section:
We have merged all of our interviews over the last three plus weeks to identify undecided and respondents who “refuse to respond” on the ballot question. This can be as high as one out of ten voters, but is generally about eight percent (8%) of the electorate in battleground states.
These voters might generally be non-voters in most cycles. But, in this cycle, 61% describe their interest in the election as a 10. This is higher than the last track among ALL voters in 1996 and 2000.
These voters are older, downscale, more rural, and are certainly economically stressed. They are quite negative about the direction of country and seek change. They voted for Bush over Kerry by a margin of 47% to 24% and this partisan advantage is a critical element to understanding our capacity to “get” these voters.
They have significant hesitations about Senator Obama’s experience and judgment.
Given an Obama TV media barrage we have not witnessed since the last candidate to run without public financing, Richard Nixon in 1972, and the daily drumbeat about Obama’s chances, given their demographics, it is my sense these voters WILL vote in this election and WILL break decisively in our direction.
These undecided/refuse to respond voters breaking decisively against Senator Obama mirrors the pattern of the last two months of the Democrat primary season.
When they do break, I believe they will add a net three plus points to our margins.
- an optimistic 3+ margin may not be enough for McBush if those breakers decide to vote at all.********
