I don't often log in and post, but I had to do so after this thread moved me so much - thank you for your reminder of our own mothers, those still with us and those who have left. All the best wishes and prayers are with you.

Tank, I know this has been a long road for you and your family. I'm really sorry and hope you the best. Your mom was lucky to have a son with such a big heart.

I have to think about this song from city&colour..
So, now you're not there
But your ghost still burns in the air
Finally above us the waves have come
To take you awayAnd with this song, I'll say goodbye
And thank you for what you've done to my life
And Finally I'll say it with love
I hope you're at rest in the stars aboveAnd I don't understand what you died for
We still could have given so much more
And I know you are something I could never be
But I know you're still there watching over me

Try to keep your head up, Tank. I lost my mom in 2002 and I'm sure that we'll all see our Mummies when we're old guys chilling somewhere up there in heaven!

mortality has been much on my mind of late. It's overwhelmingly sad, painful and frightening to think about the death of loved ones (and of your own) but it's what makes life so sacred and profound

Also a good one,
even though my parents where divorced, they went a lot for coffee the last months. This photo says all, my dad is a silent man that can't show his emotions (but he is awesome, he was just raised that way) and my mom tries to make him smile. My dad, poor man, i really saw a broken man today.

this is so sad, I read all these lovely posts... and I really can´t imagine to loose my mother one day.
*It gives me the creeps.

Sorry to hear of your loss. My mom died 2 years ago and I still think about her every day. It definitely brought the family closer. I think we all realized how precious life is.
