It seems that this particular challenge will be the most even yet...and that's great. it will make me push myself harder.
We had 14 dudes on the last one but only 7 were competing for the firsts spots and 2 never actually ran.
My goal is to do 25-30 km per week. We'll see with this eurocup and all I might have to skip running a few times.
- thats good!
maybe we can have a similar number of runners on each team for the next oneMeeklo - that'd be sweet.
Maybe do the freelance vs 5-9.VectorMasked
- thats good!

The big mystery here is...
Will flavorful actually run and get some sun?
Will he pass the urine test?............we'll have to wait and see...

what running shoes do you have?
- VectorMasked0
Those are nice ones Meeklo.
Was looking at similar ones the other day, but was a bit reluctant 2 get 'em coz they look they don't offer good cushioning. Was a bit worried about running like more than 5k on a pair with no cushioning. I know they are very light... might look again into those again.I myself got Nike Shox pair like these ones.
Mine are grey/white/green.
Really great cushioning, but not the most stable ones either. Sexy but pricey.- I've had them for a bit over a year and still look and feel like new.
Very recommended if you have no issue with stability.VectorMasked - i run kinda weird, those heels are not good for me imo********
- they are incredible, but not very recommended if overpronation is a problem. A 'wide' model would be good for most i think.VectorMasked
- dude if you continue to run 5+ days a week, i would make sure you replace your shoes after 4 months.lvl_13
- lol true. but I just started running 6 weeks ago. This shoes were basically getting dusty in the closet.VectorMasked
- it looks like you could actually get shot in the foot, and the bullets will bounce offMeeklo
- I've had them for a bit over a year and still look and feel like new.

Same here digdre.
I've always had that problem. My actual tennis shoes are usually totally useless with like 2 or 3 months of use even though I go with the hard Goodyear soles.Meeklo's model would be better for both us coz they seem flatter, and stability is key for people with that overpronation problem. I'll get them after this challenge I think.

i'll ask my parents for some good investion into it, shoes/that nike band.. :p
I found a new hobbyi guess, running :p

hmm
i thought nike + had a place for the fu...sensor already. they don't, which kind a suck. so any running shoes will work then.question, will that fu...sensor bother you while running? like a little stone.
- unless its on the left foot, i only check quickly in the store and only tried the right one.akrokdesign
- lolz. if it says nike+ it has a hole for that sensor. period.
Remember kids. Try your shoes on both feet.VectorMasked - oh...as far as I know, it's not visible right away. You gotta lift the insole to see the whole.VectorMasked
- to see the "hole"VectorMasked
- gracias!akrokdesign
- VectorMasked0
Kids.
if you got not money for Nike+ shoes or just simply wanna stick with your old pieces of shit, then just get a nike+ pouch for the sensor.
I got this one on amazon.com. pouch + arm band for only 19.99. Yes that's right 19.99. Get it while it lasts! ;o)

take it from someone with lots o knee problems, if you plan on doing a lot of running i would go to a place that can analyze your footstrike and give you the proper shoe, heel/toe/flat strike, roll in/out, etc.. not all shoes are created equal.
- maybe you just had genetically screwed up knees.
I've been a hardcore athlete most of my life and I'm fine.VectorMasked - osgood schlatters and 15 years of ski racing. even if you're fine now, it may catch up to you. it's certainly not a bad idea anyway.acescence
- what acescence saidMeeklo
- maybe you just had genetically screwed up knees.

- i think my dad used to run with these in his good ol years********
- well, i got them as they felt really good and fitted my budget by being half price. :-)akrokdesign

i put in about 12miles this weekend. iwas looking at some of the qbn stats, and it looks like quite a few of you are walking your runs with avg mile coming close to or over 12mins!! cheaters!!
:D
- VectorMasked0
Don't think so lvl.
That has mostly to do with the calibration of the sensor. I had issues with the calibration during the first 3-4 weeks. It made my runs seem slow and short. lost like 1km per every 4-5 km. I gave a treadmill a chance the other day and it recorded my run as a 3km run at just over 11 miles per hour, when outside it gets recorded as a 5km+ at under 9.5 miles per hour. Plus times and speed are not as accurate if the sensor is not flat and steady on your shoe.
- Oh, and I just calibrated it again a few days ago and it's never been so accurate.
I think Meeklo should too.VectorMasked - weird. can you only see avg mile time on pc? i saw them yesterday, but now that i'm on a mac, i can't find 'em.lvl_13
- was just gonna post that. it happens sometimes as the site sometimes doesn't import the data from wherever it is.VectorMasked
- ah, okay.lvl_13
- Missing data tends to happen more with finished challenges. When you check the leader board some data dissapearsVectorMasked
- Oh, and I just calibrated it again a few days ago and it's never been so accurate.

I'm going to spend my time not running but hacking the damn thing.
On the last day I will "run" like 500 km's and pwn all of you.
- lolz. We actually expect that from you. We'd be disappointed if you don't.VectorMasked
- good call flav.

"I had issues with the calibration during the first 3-4 weeks."
great, and i getting it close to the race.
- if it makes you feel any better, my was pretty much spot on right out of the box.lvl_13
- *"mine" waslvl_13
- :-) good.akrokdesign
- VectorMasked0
akrok, it varies from sensor to sensor.
Most of the time you just need to calibrate it one time and your done. Mine was just simply a bit problematic.
If you wanna get an accurate calibration, try running now! so that when you finally get the sensor and do the first calibration, your run is close to what your average will be. If you don't exercise and run now, when you try the calibration you'll be too slow and tired and won't have a sense of your comfortable speed.
Also remember to place your sensor as flat as possible. And btw, it is normal to be recalibrating the sensor. You should do recalibrate it when you lose weight, or if there are drastic changes in the weather and expect it to remaind that way for several weeks, etc...
- Point50
this calibration and sensor shit, it's getting way too technical for me
