Went last night, it was good but was a bit slow in places as well as the final fight scene was a little unimaginative...to be fair to the other super hero movies...it was about as predictable. about a 7.7/10

Here's a formula for you:
I loved X-Men 1. I loved Spiderman 1. I hated SP3 more than humanly possible. I really didn't like Batman Begins, at all.
The jokes Downey makes in the trailers (throwing peace signs or whatever, and other silly shit) as well as the Iron Man song completely rubbed me the wrong way. If this is any indication of the rest of the movie, I probably wouldn't like it.
My question is.. will I like it. Calling all mathematicians.
- Can't stand any of the Spidey (except II) or Xman movies, and loved Batman. I will like this, you won't. There ya go. :)harlequino

It was good, not great.
On the line of "above average". The suit is what really makes this movie awesome. the reset of the movie is about what you would expect.
- Sorry. this sounds more negative than positive. Go watch it, its good.********

Couldn't disagree more. It was awesome, really entertaining and both RDJ and Jeff Bridges were great. Go see it!

i am really suprised that the general public whom does not read comic books, probably doesnt even know what tony stark does in the marvel universe in the last 10 years, probably hasnt been inside a comic book shop recently if not ever, but yet goes to see this flick and are all giving it the best of reviews.
this sort of thing makes me very happy as the comic medium is explored and expanded with a lot of people who generally wouldnt care about the medium or its history.
i still havent seen it yet, been too busy with work, but soon i will, and realisticly i cant wait!!!!
thanks!!

I love comic book films! And the comic book thread here actually made me read more comics (not classic ones, but newer, more humorous ones with a running story), so thanks, eddie and all participants of that thread. I remember I used to go to the library and I read comics just for the art, but now I can appreciate some more things.
Jon Favreau directed Elf too! I don't know much about him.

Saw it last night and it rocked. And yes – stay until after the credits have rolled for the 'ultimate' geek moment!

Pretty average movie but I'll admit the part where he uses the final suit for the first time is pretty awesome.

Oh also, apparently there's something at the end of the credits so wait afterwards for a small little scene.

I THINK I'M GOING TODAY!!!

SPOILERS! SPOILERS! SPOILERS! SPOILERS!
It is pretty good. Up there with one or two of the X-Men films and Batman Begins. Robert Downey Jr. is fantastic.
My sister didn't enjoy it as much, probably because there weren't enough action scenes, or the scenes didn't have memorable climaxes. I partly think this is true, but I liked having various action scenes scattered throughout. One of the reasons I didn't enjoy the final fight as much was (although I can't pinpoint it exactly) because the bad guy was too cheesy. Can't they just fight without the bad guy babbling about how he is going to take down the good guy? Maybe it was a specific homage to comic books. There seemed to be *something* missing, but...
Overall, though, it was really good. Paltrow and Downey Jr. have great chemistry, and I appreciate the character development and amount of humour.
