Oh, and I REALLY liked how smart Tony is. I know it's part of the comic book character (obviously), but there was something more appealing about this kind of intelligence compared to....Peter Parker.

I quite enjoyed it. You can tell they all had a blast making the movie as Jon Favreau injected quite a lot of humour into the scenes. I guess all the merchants of death in the world have something to aspire to.
Tony Stark started looking like David Grohl half-way through and Mrs.Chris Martin was pretty much Polly Perkins from Sky Captain.
The scene right at the end of the credits was a bit of a curve ball but can't wait for The Legendary Thor to start production.
Wasn't sure if it was just me but all the dialogue seemed rushed. It was a pummeling of action which was great, but I'd wait for a director's cut as I think Favreau had to condense a lot into a little. All in all, a nice starter movie for another comic franchise.

Damn it fuckin rawked!
The wife and I had so much fun, and cackled all the way watching Downey Jr. And the I and about four other people gasped and squealed with delight at the reveal of where that agent is from.
Stay past the credits folks!

very enjoyable movie. well made and thoroughly entertaining.
i didn't stay past the credits. what happens?
-- SPOILERS --
the only problem i had was with iron monger. what was his exit strategy? he was just evil for the sake for being evil? he thought all he needed was the suit and now could cause mayhem and destruction, and would be able to spend the rest of his life in the suit? that character still needed more work i think. great movie but it was no Batman Begins.
- SPOILERS about ending >>harlequino
- The agent at the end is from S.H.I.E.L.D. After the closing credits, Stark is visited by...harlequino
- Nick Fury! played by...harlequino
- Samuel L. Jackson!! He tells stark he wants to talk to him about the "Avenger initiative." :Dharlequino
- Exactly what I meant, emukid. Iron Monger was the only issue I had.Jaline

I want to know how much Downey was improving with dialogue. My favorite line:
"Is it cool if I get a picture with you?"
-"Yes. It's very cool."

OK, to be honest, stay after the credits if you're a fan of comic books. Otherwise, it's not such a big deal.
- Hey jaline read 'the preacher' great series I loved it when I was your age. Just buy the collections I have them allchossy

ok, I'm going to go see it just because the masses here seem to like it. I've hated almost ever other comic movie that has dropped so I'll try to go in with a new attitude to see this.

just saw it...very good.

Can we stop comparing one comic book movie with another comic book movie about somebody completely different!>!>!
Ok, when the new Hulk movie is released, go ahead and bitch away by comparing like-for-like. How on earth can you compare a movie by a different director about different characters with a different story with different special effects teams with different soundtrack and merchandising toys?
Surely you're just comparing what feelings you felt as a person coming out of the movie theatre? It's like comparing a Humvee to a standard RV, no?
- You can still rate it by how the director and actors handled the film. Especially how cheesy it is. Emo Spiderman? Please....Jaline
- Llyod0
RVs are much cooler
- harlequino0
Pfft. I'll be in the fun-vee, while you two can cool your heels in the hum-drum-vee.

I thought Stark and the technology was very well done. The suit was great. I found myself not really caring about the end fight scenes. It just seems like any other movie.
I can't really describe it but I love shows like the Wire for instance but these Hollywood action movie formulas bore me so much.

I hear rumor that Tony Stark (RDJ) has a cameo in the new Hulk movie. He and Bruce Banner are seen drinking in a bar, talking, or something. Avengers, anyone?
