Context is beautiful.
In that context (if you want "tone of voice" to mean "volume", "mood", etc, of speech) then it should be:
El tono (=The tone) de voz deberá (=should be) ser adecuado a la (=to the) audiencia.
- Corvo0
AH!
why "tone of voice" then?
- honest0
ok folks, context you wanted, context ya gets:
大 家 早 晨! Good Morning everybody
Watashi wa HON desu. (My name is Hon)
When speaking the language of business, it is important that
your message is correct. (waiting for arabic translation)Su tono de voz deberia ser el adecuado para la audencia.
Jy moet ook bekwame en betroubaar wees (You must also appear
competent and trustworthy)Ich hat für viele Jahre, vielen Kunden in verschie-denen Ländern geholfen. For many years, I have been helping clients from many different countries...
- It's not "wa" it's "ha" but pronounced as "wa"
:pVectorMasked - and that btw means...
My name is BookVectorMasked
- It's not "wa" it's "ha" but pronounced as "wa"

su chingado tono de griteria tiene que ser dirigido a la puta audiencia... trust me
- pixelbeat0
Su tono de voz debe ser dirigido a su audiencia.
Dismiss the comma, dude.
- sea_sea0
"Su tono de voz, debe ser dirigido a su audiencia."
even though a bit late for this, but here's my version.*hi everyone I'm back... i know, i know.. who cares ;) lol
- VectorMasked0
Sure. again, I am not really reading posts.
"el" is also appropiate but again...it would depend on the context.
- Corvo0
But Vector, if honest is writing/translating guidelines for a client, e.g., it shouldn't even be "su" or "tu", but "el" and then it can be "debe ser" ou "deberá ser"...
Also I've seen "seer" many times matching the Infinitive.
;)
- seer?
what language is that?VectorMasked - The wrong one, obviously. But I've seen it plenty.Corvo
- seer?
- VectorMasked0
CORVO almost had it there.
formal "You" - "Su tono de voz deberia ser el adecuado para la audencia"
informal "You" - "Tu tono de voz deberia ser el adecuado para la audencia"
both work and are better than I previously suggested, but I'd replace "DEBERIA" with "DEBE"
With "deberia" it sounds like a possibility, chance or hope, whereas with "debe" it is more like "it must/it should/it has to".-> If you use "deberia", don't forget to accentuate the letter "i", so it becomes "DEBERÍA"

you know, honest, in Iberian languages one sentence is not enough to make a proper translation. It needs context, because there are many different words and expressions according to the general sense of the phrase/paragraph.
WE WANT MORE.
Even though I'm not spanish.

again my spanish speaking friends, muchos gracias!
- oh... and it's "muchAs gracias" and never "muchOs"
;opVectorMasked - for english speakers, that's the hardest thing to do: matching the genre. But it's ok, most people get it, except in France.Corvo

"tu tono de voz debe ir dirigido a tu audiencia"
He pretty much got it.
You can switch "Tu" with "Su". "Tu" is more casual, whereas "Su" is cold, polite and formal. In Mexican spanish "Tu" would be better. We tend not to use "Su" so much unless it is for something very formal and official.
What i think is a bit wrong is using "ir" which translate to "to go".
It should probably be "ser" which transdlates to "to be"So,
polite-> Su tono de voz debe ser dirigido a su audiencianormal, casual, personal -> Tu tono de voz debe ser dirigido a tu audiencia.
without so much emphasis on "your -> El tono de voz debe ser dirigido a su/tu audiencia
- Vector, check above: it's not tone-to-audience; it's content-to-audience. "adecuado" is better suited.Corvo
- yep. I realized tghat a bit too late. Didn't even bother reading all the post. My apologies master. I beg for forgiveness :o)VectorMasked
- No it's ok... that only came up after honest stated exactly what he really wanted to say.Corvo
- marikeeler0
(I would use Usted instead of Tu)
"Su tono de voz debe ser dirigido a su publico"
or
"Su tono de voz debe dirigido al publico presente"
- moural0
'Adecuado' is more like 'appropriate'. Adecuado para los ninos... las herramientas adecuadas...
It just seems out of context here???
- Corvo0
OSFA has a point.
"Adecuado a la..."
"Dirigido para la..."
