And regarding Jacob..... they're building up this mystery around him and I think when we find out who Jacob is, its gonna fuck all of our minds. I have a feeling it could be one of the original characters that is jacob. Maybe someone like Locke form the future.
- Jacob is.....locustsloth
- THE GOLDEN RETRIEVER!!!!

Does anyone else get the impression the show's producers didn't really know what any of the shit meant during the first-second season any better than the viewers? They were throwing in random shit, the smoke monster, the hatch, polar bears, etc, then later they probably sat down and were like, alright guys, we need to tie this together somehow.
- The writers / creators have claimed they have known how it's all going to play out from the beginning.juhls

Wasn't it discussed before that Jacob looks like Locke from the future? Some really obsessed fans took screencaps of various episodes of when a character speaks to Jacob, and I heard somewhere that most people thought Jacob was Locke from some other time period. Anyway, who really knows. Maybe we'll found out next week.
- I saw those screencaps & comparisons. But if you look closely the chins arent the sameimnotadesigner
- ok. I really have no idea...juhls

Ace of cakes had an episode with Lost! it was pretty amazing.

@juhls:
Here's a real good link chronicling Jacob's appearances:
http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/…
The first time, it does look a lot like him, except with long hair. Then there's the eyeballs and then both Locke and Hurley see Christian Shepard in Jacobs cabin.
It'll be real interesting to see what they do with the whole 'Locke's going to kill Jacob" thing in the finale.
A friend reminded me that the guy who was urging Miles not to work for Widmore (Bram) was on the Ajira flight with the bounty hunter chick who nabbed Sayid. Both of them asked the "shadow of the statue" question. Also Cuse and Lindelof (show runners) said that we would get a better view of the front of the statue before the end of this season.
It's shaping up to be one heck of a finale
- harlequino0
I hope we get to see how Widmore's group got to the island.
- My guess is the Black Rock shiplocustsloth
- Nah, that ships from the 1800's.harlequino
- yeah, but both Widmore and Alpert have been seen buying or constructing reproductions of it. It's gotta figure in somehowlocustsloth
- harlequino0
Given the repeated themes of closeups on the eye, I wonder if Jacob is a future/timeless Jack.
- ukit0
It's gonna be Hurley. Ruling over the island!
- harlequino0
Ok, I 'm totally going with the theory that Jacob is a very old/dead/or trapped in time Jack. Here's why:
-The recurring them of closeups on an eye. (I could be wrong, but) It only happens with two people - Jack and Jacob.
-In the eye close-ups, both Jacob's and Jack's eyes are brown. (Ben and Locke's eyes are not, btw)
-Right now, it seems Jack is the one taking the initiative with getting the bomb to save everyone. It puts him once again in a big leadership postion.
-The show started with Jack, and has (for the most part) felt largely like Jack's story. It would be fitting to end the story with him as the central figure.
-Episodically, Jacob was first mentioned by name in "I Do". According to 'other' Danny Pickett, Jack "wasn't even on Jacob's list".
-The two other entities we've seen in Jacob's domain or prescence are Christian (Jack's father) and Claire (Jack's half sister, and daughter to Christian). If one were a time-trapped lonely entity who could call on minions for help, wouldn't one call on their family?
-And darn it, would it be perfect for Jack's self-sacrificing character if he had to take the BIG BULLET for the whole island population and live out a very long lonely existence to make sure pieces fall in place for a final salvation of everyone else?
-"Jack Shepard." Wouldn't this truly make him a shepard to all?
- Good theories and reasoninglocustsloth
- haha, I haven't paid that much attention to who Jacob is, to be honest. Good theory.juhls
- For some reason that character does not interest me, but I'm sure that will change after the finale...juhls
- After reading this I am more intrigued. Nice last few points (especially).juhls

An addition to harle's theory:
The island (or Jacob) is using Christian to speak to people. He told Locke to tell "his son" he said hi. It was at the point that Locke told Jack this tidbit that Jack turned around from being skeptical to being open about it and eventually being the driving force to get everyone back on the island.
So it would stand to reason that future Jack (Jacob) would know that it would be the one thing that would get past Jack to agree to go back
Further, it would stand to reason that the whole reason ANY of this is happening is because future Jack (Jacob) is trying to find someone to help him get free (the ring of ash and whatnot).Or maybe Jacob's just the dog
- If he were the dog, it's be a really great 'Son of Sam' shout out, haha.harlequino

Just a few points...
Watching 5 seasons in 8 weeks keeps the story moving quicker than 5 seasons over 5 years. Now i look twice when i see a blue VW Kombi. There is one perked around the corner of my house.
And this...i grew up watching this character
- tangoxray30
parked.
Its parked
Not perked

^What's the "Lost" connection in that vid?
Him falling on a yellow floor wearing a yellow shirt and being hit by lemons was funny as shit. I love sight gags like that.
- The guy dying from a heart attack is WidmoreHAYZ1LLA
- Oh no shit!harlequino
- harlequino0
Btw, I think it wound up in another thread, but I just want to point out how I am still a bit raw that my whole Jacob theory that I had worked hard on, was destroyed in the first 2 minutes of the season finale.
*shakes fists- ha ha. The first thing that popped into my head during the finale was, "harlequino was wrong!?"juhls
- Yeah, for the record, I thought your theory had legs.duckofrubber
- Thanks. Something died in me in those two minutes. ;)harlequino
- It was actually the first thing I though of after that scene.duckofrubber

Just FYI, there is a print series based on the show:
http://damoncarltonandapolarbear…Every few days there are clues regarding the next print that will come out. There is a new one released every 3 days or so. Clues are pretty intricate and involve real-life businesses and people. There are so many artists involved that it will last at least a few months.

Was talking about LOST just the other night over beers with some fellow avid LOSTies.
This fucking season had better deliver!
- juhls0
The creators mentioned that Juliet is not coming back.
Good thing it's the last season, or I would've been in shambles. Shambles, I tell you!
- harlequino0
What, really?? I realize she's on "V" now, but how are they reconciling this? Link please. I must know. I MUST DAMMIT. ARGGH!
*jumps out window
- ukit0
Didn't she die at the end of the last episode?
I'm fine with it, I always found her character mildly annoying.
- But she's kinda purdy and looks limber.harlequino
- Sorry... she dead;Pukit
- juhls0
Well, she died, but can you really count any death on this show as "dying"? Also, there was an implication that she had managed to alter their fate somehow.
