bahaha nice :D
Also - since coming to OiNK, i've bought WAY more cd's. especially rarer stuff that you can't find. just rip them and up them - your ratio is golden.

hey so is there a font torrents?
- cphunk0
There's a huge amount of font packages on oink actually.
- Jaline0
Yes, the font torrents are great on Oink. They have apps as well. If they don't have it at Oink or if I find a great program there and appreciate it, I will pay for it.

- cphunk0
Sweet. Cause you really seem to be asking a lot of questions about it. Just wanted to make sure.
- MrD0
I am asking a lot because it was futile attempt to bring out some guilt in stealing fonts / music etc
:D

Kind of, but you have to share your files with other people to stay a member anyway.

(Sep 30 07, 16:07)that doesnt justify downloading files for free rather the files you are sharing are legal or not.

my basic perspective on this issue: to me it's like I don't spend any more or less on music since I started downloading because i don't make any more or less money. i still buy i just get to listen to WAY more full albums. The industry has yet to prove it loses anything and for the most part it's gaining from more exposure and cross over revenue. I'd garuntee you there's more regular music listeners/fans in this world since the internet took everything over. i've also heard the info gained from these sites are actuallly hugely important in gauging markets for these companies.
STEALING would be if they lost something, if I went in and physically stole a disc they lost that CD, that's the general principle behind stealing, if something got taken and was subsequently lost. An mp3 can be transfered / reproduced infintly, the band and record company didn't lose or gain anything from me downloading a peice of digital information that happens to sound like music they produce. If they argue they lost 4% of total revenue because of pirating, an imposible number to calculate by the way, I personally didn't single handedly cause that. Nor did the individuals that make up the mass of music downloaders. The internet and the new means of distribution is generally responsible. The times are a a changin and if they can't handle that they're fucked. Their business will fail because they're too stuborn to get a more modern business model and blaming the consumer (and fans).

^ what MONEYCIDE said.
If you're going by facts, yes, it is illegal to download this stuff (in some countries anyway).
But there are statistics to prove that many companies are still making lots of money. Also, a lot of Oink users make their own torrents out of music they bought. I have made files to seed by purchasing albums I couldn't find anywhere else.
- M0NEYCIDE0
yeah exactly I've yet to be convinced by the RIAA or anyone that I'm a criminal for downloading ripped music.
- MrD0
So, what you are saying is that if someone makes a lot of money, its ok to take stuff from them.
I dont know...
I just think that if you are in the creative industry, i think you should take care of intellectual property of others rather they make loads of money or not.
- M0NEYCIDE0
that's not the point at all. the technology changed everything, I'm trying to think of an example when laws simply became outdated and redundant because of a broad shift in history, but it happens all the time, especially these days. The point is that they're not losing anything, could be argued they gain and subsequently all of it does not add up to me or you or anyone else "stealing" something.
I'll let you know when I think of a good example, but basically when tech changes the industries always change and the laws change, in this case the industry is changing slowly and stupidly by sueing left and right and complaining and attempting to incriminate people.
- MrD0
but there are technology available where you can download free per pay
why not do that?
i think stealing is still stealing.
why not subscribe to a monthly subscription? like napster?
