ahven't read any other post... but this is going to revolutionize the porn industry

saw a guy working with something very similar to this on a TED Talks episode about 6-8 months ago. Can't really say if it was for Microsoft or not...

here's the TED Talk episode:

(May 30 07, 08:02)was that suppose to be funny? Cause I really have no clue what that means.
- KevinTx0
I should be getting one next week..
except mine is going to fit in my pocket and make phone calls.

It was 'supposed' to be, yes.
I thought you were here regularly enough to know what I meant.
My bad.

Hmmm sure did see this last year. So now the question is did they just make their own or buy it from the guys came up with it originally. The photo demo was pretty much the same demo that I saw originally. The difference being that camera DL new images right to it. Another video I saw was starcraft/warcraft using that mutli touch interface. I would get one for just that alone.

that thing is bad ass!
it'd be even cooler if with every purchase it came with a free tutorial hosted by tom cruise minority report style to show you how to use it.
actually. that would suk

Touch Screen has been around since the 80s. It's already in use in several restaurants. It's cool to see it being finally pushed forward. Next step is holograms!

Hux said many doctors/surgeons already use tablet pc's for lots of things. Imagine the portability of documents like x-rays, MRI's etc that currently are output on film. You can't zoom in/out on films. no documents to get destroyed, sending files to other physicians. It just makes tons of sense for that application.

(May 30 07, 08:44)I heard about this as well! And even though some of the technology portrayed in forensic and medical TV shows are not real, this kind of technology really makes it seem possible.

This thing is great, definetely the future. I wonder if those students that made that demo (which was posted here a year ago) sold the tech to Microsoft.
The camera wi-fi feature is great.
- Boz0
I think that most people dissing this technology are very ignorant or Apple zelots that can't accept the fact that Microsoft is changing the way we live with this technology. It's not a hyped up, designed in white product to use highly propriatery crap. It's actually USEFUL.
Unlike iPhone crap and visual appeal over functionality, what Microsoft is doing with Sufrace is the future and the possibilities are ENDLESS.
As if Apple could do something like this on global scale. They are just big and strong enough to make this technology work as Microsoft can, through vendors, other companies etc etc.
Btw, defanddumm yeah, in this video you see the guy who presented the technology. I think they sold it to Microsoft or he worked for MS at that time.

Cheers.

"They are just big and strong enough to make this technology work as Microsoft can, through vendors, other companies etc etc."
Correction: They are NOT strong enough.
- defanddumm0
Cmon now Boz, no need to shit on Apple because Microsoft bought some good tech. I have heard that Apple has been working on a touch-screen iMac that is similar to this.
Live the best of both worlds.
- Boz0
no I don't shit on Apple. I'm just pissed off about people who support Apple and talking crap about this.
When something revolutionary comes out like this Apple fanboys keep shitting all over it because it's Microsoft. No valid explanation, no insight, nothing. I have my beef with Microsoft as well, but people are not objective. You should praise and embrace something that's really worth it, no matter who it comes from.
Second thing is that Microsoft unlike Apple has financial strenght as well as developer and vendor support to implement this technology.
To change how we live our lives with technology you need to have these things everywhere you go, restaurants, your fridge, your doors, your office desk. One iMac is not gonna do it if in case that's true that Apple has something like that coming out. But we all know what's gonna happen now don't we. They'll come out with something and then Apple fanboys will start talking how Microsoft ripped off multitouch from iPhone and crap like that. You see what I'm saying. It's just completely idiot, especially since the guy who invented multitouch technology did it with the help of Microsoft (take a look at that other video I posted, the guy talks about multitouch)
I always had issues with Apple so called technologies, since they never invent anything, they rip it off and clean the shit out of it and package it nicely. That's it.
- defanddumm0
I know what you mean Boz, but people talk...what can you do, you know?
Microsoft deserves some of the crap they take with some of their older money-milking schemes.
If it wasnt for Apple, Google and others then you would be paying MS$ for just using the web by now.
