Really, If you look at the video demos the "product" looks like its geared for regular consumers (synching and manipulating photos, transfering music, etc.). In reality, with a price tag of $10k, it is geared for business corps, casinos, hotels, etc., for kiosk purpose.... "Multitouch" will be the buzz word from here on and what product will be available for consumers next month with this feature? Apple's iPhone. The cupertino mktng dept must be loving this.

Well Cupertino didn't invent MultiTouch...they are trying to pass it as they did, but they didn't.
Jeff Hun and this other guy are showing their work on multitouch as Jeff actually created the whole idea and showcased it.

This is the essence of what I'm trying to say. Apple constantly manages to convince people that they invent all this crap (I guess this is where Jobs' genious in marketing comes in), when in fact they license it (in many cases they don't even do that, they just steal it - look at all the lawsuits they've faced in the past 10 years for patent, product or music for stealing)
Bottom line, Jeff is definitely working with Microsoft on this or getting a fat paycheck and Microsoft Surface is probably the coolest thing that happened in the past decade or more.

if apple made this thing it would cost 25k and the table top wouldn't be cleanable

Damn there are some serious haters on this forum. I love me Mac now but I gotta' say whether it's useful or not the interface for sharing content in a "physical" fashion is pretty damn cool. But then again I'm not cool so whatever...

I know it sounds cliche, but I think we are seeing the future, not necessarily for you and I, but for consumer level electronics. Good on Apple for doing it with the iPhone but there is a whole other world outside of that thing.

i didnt read all the responses but the cellphone store clip was kinda cool the person puts the cellphone on the screen and the options and featured came up not sure if a store would pay that much for that seems easier to use a small piece of paper...but kinda cool anyways

Apple haven't come close to doing anything like this. iPhone is just a glorified palm top - there's nothing revolutionary in it..

when and where is it being shown in sf? google won't tell me.
