In the current work situation you are in -assuming you are not constantly swamped and considers your job to be alright- what would possibly make you work more?
Perks? More money? Less hours? Time off with pay? Fill in the blank ____
Would appreciate replies that make sense and not the usual NT dravel.

i actually just started working more to finish a project because this week i'll be setting up our user experience media room.
42" plasma
leather couch
xbox 360
surround sound
hd dvd player
apple tv
tivo
direct tv - sports packagewe're going to start building our own media center and need to test what is currently out there. while doing so we get to of course play with everything ourself.
without that i'd say more money. but that alone might not actually make me work more, i'd probably just work the same wiht more money in my pocket.
perks would be nice. finishing a project on time = x amount of $ extra. stuff like that.

- More interesting projects. Right now I have a few projects per month, and I can finish them within a few days (although everyone thinks it takes me longer). If I didn't have tight deadlines then I would definitely do everything at the last minute.
- Time off with pay would be good, although I'm only a student.
- Pay is already great and I work downtown, which is always entertaining.
I'm actually having a meeting tomorrow with my pay advisor, who will be letting me know about some extra benefits that I have received.
Also, I have a dental plan with my parents still since I'm only 20 and going to school.

Feeling that the massive corp I'm working for now really cared about what the designers thought and implemented changes that they suggested. It feels good to be taken seriously and listened to.

I think I'm pretty lucky for a student.
I have all of the above things...

yo jox, good question. Some things I notice, when people bust there ass on a project, what do they normally get? A good job and pat on the back, maybe a gift card... or more then likely, more work. And if they constantly do outstanding work it's what you expect.
IMO, you need to make them feel important, satisfied. If they feel they are getting taken advantage of they look to leave. So give them something besides more work, find something that is important to them and make it happen. If it's a few days off for a trip to "insert cool place" then send them. A good happy employee that knows hard work does not go unnoticed is invaluable. And often it raises the level of all the employees.
