if i had a dog and the dog was cool (not bat shit crazy) i'd like to bring it to work and let it chill in my cube. that would be cool.
but not everyday though. part of me would think i'd be wasting a lot of time walking it and wanting to play with it and put it's shit into the marketing departments printer paper tray and stuff.

(May 29 07, 12:19)Ohh no no no no. As much of a dog lover I am, the fact that so many people are allergic, I think you won't find many workplaces allowing that these days.

actually kona, one of my clients have this girl that brings her golden into the office 1-2 times a week. I love visiting on those days, but i love dogs and that is a huge plus for me... bring your dog to work day

we used to have 'bring your rabid squirrel to work' days but we had to stop that because too many people died.

jox, in your list, you forgot about:
- letting employees make out with each other without feeling like they have to hide it!
like that one time...

We are issued MacBook Pro laptops where I am now. And we can also bring our dogs to work; the policy is unofficial and loose...no one seems to do it every day but it's a cool option.
Other things...more autonomy. Track work rather than time...this creates more of a peer partnership rather than an us/them relationship.

unless u are blind you should not bring ur dog to work.
i'm all for the lizard, or other reptile...

more engaging projects.
I find that when challenged or excited about doing a project I can work for hours on end. If it is a project that I'm doing to pay the bills it is more like work for 30 minutes, screw around for 15 minutes, work for 30, play for 15...

finishing a project on time = x amount of $ extra. stuff like that.

i just thought of something. i heard that employees at adaptive path get to spend 20% of their work week educating themselves so that they can keep current on industry developments. it sounds like a win-win for company and employee.
- madirish0
google does this as well
- joyride0
google has employees spend 20% of work week spent on own personal projects... of course google has rights to the project. So its for google, but all your ideas... and it's manditory
