My guess is you have a 'professor' (aka-washed up artist) who runs their mouth about the 'garbage' out there (that he'll never get to produce) and you fall for it hook line and sinker.

There are tons of great sites that do not get on there.. then ENVIGA that coke site gets on there???
FWA has been losing reputability in my book

the FWA used to be my first visit but now i hardly even check out the picks. it's not that the sites aren't well done. most are produced way above my skill level. they are well done but they suck. like the site that won the site of the year. the body groom. it was well done technically but it really wasn't all that interesting. it's like snickering at a dirty joke. funny for a second but no real meaning or value. once you get the punchline who give a crap?

on the other hand, i see some good picks from fcukstar.com.
thefwa site needs some work too. at first i was blown away at all of the content being presented in a tasteful flash shell. now, its several usability shortcomings are wearing.
still, all that said, thefwa is a nice service and i am glad it is there. i just wish it would come out of its adolescence.

okay... I'm reading lots of 'what's bad about the sites on FWA'...
... what would you like to see up there?
Do you have anything you've seen lately that you feel belongs up there?
I'm not being a 'smartass' here either [:)] - I'd like to understand what 'you' consider 'award worthy' given the fact that we've now had 10 years of DRAMATIC change on the web.
... i dunno - I can't think of many other sites I've seen lately that belong up there - it's for WEBSITES... not print work etc etc... and it's obviously for Flash sites.
Perhaps someone should create a sister-site that's strictly for DOM scripted sites...
... I just want to know what 'you' who are ripping some of the stuff that's up there consider 'good'.
Now that 'same' and 'mick' have chimed in (people i really respect based on skill and work they've shown... :)... )...
... I'm having second thoughts on 'what is good'.

like i said, just check out fcukstar... not every site is great but you will find some amazing ones that never make fwa.
in my mind, thefwa's focus seems to have shifted from sites that appeal to designers to sites that appeal to clients and account managers.
