since i've been at this job i've seen 2 interviewees get nixed in part because they didn't look "professional" cause you could see a tat on the wrist or hand. i fought those to no end (they were talented guys) but i work for a conservative bunch.
on one hand, that's utterly lame and stupid especially for a desk/design job. but on the other, i'd say it's probably a bad idea to get a tat in a place which can't be covered by a long-sleeved or collared shirt. ppl will discriminate.

(Mar 23 07, 08:51)True. I think it's a bit questionable when someone has tattoos all over their face though. Like that guy who had guns near/on his temples.

yes. i've thought about it before. i don't think a full-sleeve would be good for me though cuz i think i'd regret it once i start to feel "old".
i had this idea that i wanted to get a cool looking tree and add branches to it to mark important points in my life. i like the idea of an evolving piece of art. its probably been done before but whatever..it would be somewhat meaningful to me.
but so far no tatts...just a couple piercings.

I used to want some sort of Frank Lloyd Wright pattern or illustration on my back, but now I want my family crest from Italy on my forearm.

Whoever wrote the response below is absolutely clueless...Japanese tattoo history is some of the most ancient in the world and it's traditional motif's and style will never be trendy or out of style...Hardly "tribal"...If you're going to get your first tattoo you can't go wrong with traditional Japanese or American...timeless...Unless the artist sucks.
Talking out of the ass:
"Just don't get anything Asian. This includes (but not limited to): symbols/characters, fish, trees or flowers, religious/spiritual figures.
Asian is the new tribal."
