no worries, Jaline, with a little mental yoga and a bottle of cheap French wine I already forgot what you wrote yesterday!

Yeah, that episode kicked ass.
I loved the "reveal" at the end with Locke's dad. Man that guy is a dick.
I still think there may be another, more indiginous population on the island. Remember last season, when Eko and Jin were crouched in the jungle and the sets of dirty feet go running by?
And why is there that crazy ass security pereimeter around their camp? They didn't throw that up when the Losties crashed that's for sure.

sorry, raf. Although it's not a spoiler if the episode has already aired, I should've put a spoiler warning because some people in other countries have the episodes coming out later.

(Mar 23 07, 05:16)Yeah, that's weird.
Possibilities:
(1) They know about the indigenous peoples and put it up so no one can come close and harm them.
(2) Also about security: The perimeter was put up after the plane crash so that no one else could disrupt how Ben and his folks live, but that's unlikely. It was probably built before then.
(3) Locke is right about Ben not wanting anyone to get off the island (...and Ben admitted that if he let people off the island it'd be a sign of weakness). And to go even further, he has traps around to catch anyone who tries to leave, despite claiming that they can leave at any time.
(4) It's for something else, that the Russian guy probably knew about.
- harlequino0
It definitely had to be built before they got there. Ben said "you've been on this island for 65 days," so given how long it takes the NYC dept. of Public Works to do anything, it's gonna take wayyyy longer for a handful of people to build that thing. Heh.
- Jaline0
heh, although the NYers are probably not as bored as the island people.
- harlequino0
True dat. The Others don't have Dunkin Donuts or diners to waste time in. ;)
- harlequino0
In the last episode, did anyone catch what games they have in their rec room? Was that maybe a Gallaga machine in the back?
- Jaline0
Locke was wet from head to
toe meaning that he was in the water or swimming. He was not wet when we see him get in the submarine.A possibility includes that he moved the submarine and made it look like it had blown up. I hope so, since that's the Locke that I like ;)
- harlequino0
Holy crap, you're right. I didn't think of that. Yeah, why would he be in the water otherwise.
Shifty man, that Locke.
- Jaline0
He was also a navy commander, which was revealed in the episode, remember?

LOCKE'S DAD!!! How fuckign AWESME of an ending was that! The look on his face - the pshyc mind tricks a la Ben...goddamit I wish every episode was like that one
- Jaline0
Also, since Locke's father said, "I'm a con-man" or something, does anyone else think that he's the original Sawyer?
The guy who ruined James' life by sleeping with his mother (thereby leading to James calling himself Sawyer on the island).

(Mar 23 07, 07:39)oh no you didn't!!! That's such a good theory!
- harlequino0
I thought of the Sawyer connection too. Excellent.
Were we supposed to believe that Locke was in the Navy? I didn't get that impression. Thought he was being coy.
- Jaline0
If it's true, I'd like Sawyer to be in the know about Locke's father being on the island, heh :)
And I want Jack and Claire to know about how they're related too, but I'm not sure that'll happen. Unless one of the Others tells Jack.
- harlequino0
Ben is soooo cool, btw. I like him.
And who was the "Man from Tallahasee?" Was that Locke's dad?
That was a sort of David Lynch moment. "Bring me the man from Tallahassee." :)
Reminded me of in Blue Velvet:
"Play me a Candy Colored Clown."
- harlequino0
oh btw, the woman at the beginning who Locke deals with regarding his disability benefits...
She played Marcie, at the beginning of "Magnolia," who John C. Reilly handcuffed to the couch.
"I don't know no loud crash!" haha
:D
