I think I'm going to wait a bit until it's more safe...

I'll do what I did with the other Window's OS's, wait for service pack 2 before I even consider upgrading...

there are way to many types of vista to actually make me even consider it.

Too graphic intensive. I use XP in the classic mode and have no use for 3D spinning menus. This is one o the main gripes I have with Apple, too - I HATE big, ugly icons.
My 3D programs need every ounce of graphic card avaible.
I'll wait a few years.

Is windows 98 stable yet?

So what does it actually do that XP doesn't?
It's a 15GB install. There's gotta be something in there worth having, but I haven't read anything new.
I'll wait till I upgrade my machine in about 2 years.

The billion dollar insurance company I work for just upgraded us to XP.
I will see vista in about 5+ years...

With my MSDN Subscription, I've had access to all the Betas/Releases and everything the past year or whatever.
There is no point until the first service pack at the very least I imagine.
Though I hope some other jerk at my work installs it so I can play with it, to see if it's cool enough to consider, heh.
I like new things. :X
Actually, I couldn't even put it on this computer, because if something went wrong it'd be horrible (for me).

vista has some cool new features, most of which are already available in other OSs, but their version of things is so ill conceived. like UAC, it's supposed to prevent all this adware and spyware by alerting you that every action you take may be potentially dangerous, except they left out the most important part, requiring that you enter a password. so, most people will see it as an annoyance (because you see the thing pop-up about 1000 times per session) and instantly dismiss it. fabulous.
