i am sick of hack designers and people who pirate photoshop and think because they can do a few tricks they are a designer. design should go exclusive again. from now on i am hating on hacks and fake ass "designers".

I think everyone goes through the phase where they know how to do drop shadows in PS, so therefore they are a "designer". That's where I was at when I started college.
The people who matter know how to separate the wheat from the shaft.

i received an email this morning form a designer in india questioning the origin of a logo i have on my site, which pointed me toward their client's site featuring the logo in question.
while similar, it is not close enough to draw any suspicion by a trained designer, one versed in rudimentrary ip laws anyway.
i come to find that this is a recent project by my indian correspondant, whereas the mark i penned was done so years ago.
so i had to spend 1hour out of my day to deal with some hack in india who wants me to take down my work because he copied it, changed it, and now thinks it looks too similar for me to continue showing.
i stand with you.

There are some days I'm convinced I'm a hack though so I'd be against myself half the time. I'm not so concerned about hacks designing their family Christmas letter. These people aren't going to get hired anywhere.

you should try learning to read sherman and its mrs. im talking about those who dont want to learn and who dont know their work sucks. people who not acknowledge design as a legit discipline that has to be learned. those who think because they own photoshop, they can do what a professonal does.

@forwhatever: it matters because people are all like you are wasting your time in design school, " I CAN DO THAT". it devalues the profession and peoples perception of what designers do . that is why it matters.
