I do see lots of postings for graphic designers in Halifax at emigration forums. But I don't think I have a thick enough coat.

Toronto's way colder then halifax.

Ottawa is shit, don't go there.
Toronto has everything you need.

(Oct 20 06, 12:51)haha, true for some things. but really, it all depends. I guess I stand up for Ottawa b/c I've lived here for a long time and I know that you can definitely find lots of things to do here if you make an effort. I was born in Toronto, so I will go back every few months to visit family and just shop around and stuff.

lol, Fanco.
kinetic, I actually heard that the Yukon is getting more recognition for things now...

the Yukon has a great music festival. a lot of canadians bands go there. Dawson City all the way.
i like ottawa too. just moved away from there. and jaline's right. a lot of things to do. i love the irish pubs. but for all the genos who love to go clubbing in their honda civics, you wont like the night spots. so dont go to ottawa. the city doesnt want you.
- Jaline0
hehe, what Fanco said is pretty much right. We are getting more festivals and events, plus a new light-rail system soon (probably, depending on who becomes the mayor in a few weeks), but I think we're a good city to raise a family in. Which has nothing to do with this thread, since you're asking about design. So don't come to Ottawa if you are really interested in getting a design job. You can find one, but it'll be more difficult.

Jesse.. are you living on teh coast?

maybe someone already said this, but you would be emigrating to Canada, not immigrating
sorry, I can't help it

Thanks for the detailed response snuggles, that is really interesting :)
I think I see what your saying about the changes Dutch design is seeing, but I never really made the connection to the UK influence. I always admired the direct/simplistic basis of it, I hope that element never fades.

hortles,
not yet.

Montreal is the best city to live in but Toronto is the best place to make money.
I don't know about Vancouver but I do know that a lot of people from there come here so it can't be that great.
Calgary: unh, I dunno, fucking rodeo's and shit.
- twosixohfive0
Albertan Trailer Parks all the way, for fucken sure.
