My point is, that you don't need to be from a certain country anymore, to experiment with a specific style / trend/ school (that was probably born somewhere else). How many people in the states (or outside switzerland for that matter) you see enjoying the pleasures of the helvetica font, with minimalistic layouts? Just check the links on the PBS or NTB.. in fact I'm guilty and I have never been to switzerland myself, and I know very little about their history outside design.
I was born in argentina, and I listen to electronic music (arguably born in germany, maybe somewhere esle, deffenetly not argentina) I don't like Tango, I am not a futbol fan (that is soccer to you americans). Do you see my point now?
Yes, I agree every city has it's own flavor, culture is different in many things, but as time passes by, everything starts to blend.
What are you going to have for lunch today? chinese? Japanese? Indian? Mexican? what are you hungry for today?
Raise your hand if you NEVER asked that question to somebody.Do you think 100 years ago, you could sit down and enjoy sashimi at a sushi place in santiago de chile, like today?
Do you see my point now?

there are still differences, they are just too small to notice

haha, it's not the topic mate, it's the tactic...
philosophy only makes you more confused if you read too much into it, treat it like religion... guidelines, stories, etc... it's still only one mans perspective..
I'm not upset with you, but that's because I know where you're coming from and I know how much you care, about EVERYTHING...
A bomb goes off in Tibet, injures an already 3-legged cat and you take it personally... It's what I love about you man, but it's also what's gonna kill you before you're 40...

exactly, meeklo.
unless you were a rich bitch during the hightimes of the Dutch VOC era, you were not able to taste the foreign spices to the extend as we can today.
and as we will today.
it's all getting bastardized. and it has it's advantages. but i am also worrying about this.

maybe i should stop reading philosophy.
perhaps it makes me bitter.

(Oct 17 06, 09:31)It's true. Learning everything that I am from school, my professors, reading, society...sometimes it's just overwhelming and makes me very bitter. I've been bitter in some of the other threads about politics and society here b/c I'm learning more about the world and it makes me tired. And sick. To use a cliche, I guess ignorance really is bliss sometimes and it's better to not know what's going on because then you feel like venting and doing something about it, which also leaves you bitter...
