stop with the dutch/british/scandinavian/ etc design bull shit.
there's only design coming from an agency or a person. not from a country. you dont think when you design what the countries standards are. you just want to make a proper design for the subject at hand.
this nationalism design gibberish is nothing more then marketing drivel.
in some countries it has been magnified by state sponsored initiatives to create a false idea of distinction or superiority.

sorry, it's not true. It never could be. Design is determined by culture, every national culture is a different mix, old and young, progressive and conservative, the nations history etc...
The demands, expectations and lifestyles of each citizen varies too much from culture to culture, nation to nation to gain any sense of blanket equality...
Some nations have been around a lot longer than others, which generally means a richer heritage and appreciation for the arts, etc.. How can the younger nations begin to be on the same level, without just blatently taking something from somebody else...
I know what you kids are saying about the balance of good and bad, but there are definite signatures from each nation.
To me:
Dutch = Direct
London = Dry & Witty
US = More is better
Scandi = Playful & experimental

sorry, snugs. but in the day and age of globalisizisizzleisation and innernets this is becomeing less and less true. i feel very strongly about it. it makes me care less about the subject of design as a bearer of local/national culture as well.
