My point is, that you don't need to be from a certain country anymore, to experiment with a specific style / trend/ school (that was probably born somewhere else). How many people in the states (or outside switzerland for that matter) you see enjoying the pleasures of the helvetica font, with minimalistic layouts? Just check the links on the PBS or NTB.. in fact I'm guilty and I have never been to switzerland myself, and I know very little about their history outside design.
I was born in argentina, and I listen to electronic music (arguably born in germany, maybe somewhere esle, deffenetly not argentina) I don't like Tango, I am not a futbol fan (that is soccer to you americans). Do you see my point now?
Yes, I agree every city has it's own flavor, culture is different in many things, but as time passes by, everything starts to blend.
What are you going to have for lunch today? chinese? Japanese? Indian? Mexican? what are you hungry for today?
Raise your hand if you NEVER asked that question to somebody.Do you think 100 years ago, you could sit down and enjoy sashimi at a sushi place in santiago de chile, like today?
Do you see my point now?
