I read news from all sources. Fox News Channel isn't even news really, it is all commentary.

you talk about me being a bush hater, but I just love that darn constitution and bill of rights.

you lost the argument, so here we go...

btw your hate for Bush has nothing to do with the constitution or the bill of rights. I am not sure if you know that through that fog of fear and hate you carry.

If the US gov was supplied with a tip, they would have no problem getting proper warrants to perform surveillance.
You disagree?

i dont think anyone in this thread has stated (with references preferably) what is actually different about the US vs UK laws and practices relating to surveiilance of suspected terrorists.. it would help...

one of the sources, sure. you block out what you don't want to believe. Also look at the statment that the RNC made about it. What do you dispute?
- kyl30
kyl3 I haven't heard that. What are the details to that story? How was the Muslim individual found? Did he or she come forward? Will you toss me a link?
The UK's surveillance laws would outrage the ACLU in America.

this is politisizing and generalizing and demonizing in it's worst form. If there is a violent extremeist jihad being waged against the 'west' or 'free' world this is it's despicable equal

Balance - you are talking as if it was just some superhuman feat by the UK, alone, that prevented the attacks.
This is simply not the case.
It was through months of work with the Pakistani and US Intelligence departments, following an initial tip-off from a muslim community leader, that led to the monitoring of several suspects, and eventually their capture.
You are trying to compare apples to oranges, and failing miserably.

I shoudl have read the whole thread before I even bothered answering. 'Balance' is obviously a fucking right-wing troll, no doubt Question or Republican under a new moniker.
*yawn*

i'm getting very worried about the constant erosion of civil liberties and privacy that results from such events - fundamentalism on both sides is slowly winning - when its gotten to the point where you are under constant surveillance and checks terror has allready won.... truth of the matter is you can pump up security all you want if you have a trully dedicated madman set on causing havok - nothing can stop him

That's called "fear". Something your cadidates want you to feel so you vote for them.
