lensbabies are cool, but get tired real quick. No way to duplicate exact effect for commercial use. I could get a good image, but if I showed an art director a polaroid or digital image on a shoot, I doubt I could get the focus area exactly the same.
If you guys like tweaked focus, you should buy a view camera and tweak the standards to throw the focus. Nothing beats real focal plane shifts.

yeah that image is awesome.... I saw some production photos of that shot somewhere. The set etc was pretty insane

fyi, if you want to do that hdr stuff with your digi cam, most have what is called auto exposure bracketing, it'll take 3 pics for you automatically, at optimum (acording to the meter), one above, and one below.

(Apr 27 06, 17:09)i have been thought to work with a view camera for almost a year. it was awesome, but i never could afford to buy one, let alone pay for the large film. i really want to get into that soon. you can get basic viewcamera's at pretty decent prices nowadays on the second hand market..

yeah i agree that they are pricy. but remeber that digital is in demand now so you can probably find some good deals on ebay. Plus you could always get a medium format view camera if don't wanna pay for large 4x5 film.
