I like the look to this technique (in some cases) I guess it is pretty difficult if say, some trees are moving about a bit or something

this one is pretty awesome

yes, very nice.
this technique looks overdone when used on sunlit scenery.
nightshots on the other hand become really impressive with HDR

i have been wondering about these awesome images for a while, does it use similar techniques?

well used here as well:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/dun…look at the detail in the mountains etc. Would be impossibe under these circumstances with this light without some serious Ansel Adams trickery or HDR.. :)

those are awesome, as this HDR is totally new to me and I haven't researched any, how is this guy managing multiple exposures and keeping the people 'still' - is he cutting the person out and treating differently or what? adjusting the image with curves/levels and then merging or whatever it is you do?
I dunno I'm still using CS1 :(

i think, if you are talking about those "art" series i posted earlier, that these people were obviously posing for the image and possibly standing very still for seconds.
i have had to ask a few people that were posing once in a dark situation to stand still for at least 5-8 seconds straight! it's possible, jsut needs a bit of practice.
this way you can create very surreal images like that i suppose!
