pole to pole was better, i thought, but there was still a lot of incredible footage last night. mountains didn't quite have the same narrative cohesion. i'm really curious about the freshwater episode, but fear we're now on to b-string material.

(Mar 13 06, 01:17)sure it's got nothing to do with bandwidth costs coverage?
i mean dutch tv is freely accessible over the world, but who cares, since noone speaks dutch.

(Mar 13 06, 03:52)But is dutch tv paid for by a license fee?
In anycase I downloaded a 2gig mpeg version of part one, I'll get part two tonight.
- fifty500
We have to pay TV licensing fees here in Germany, too. It's called GEZ. We have to pay a yearly fee on just OWNING a TV, even if you don't want it, plus we have to pay for owning a radio. Soon they want to tax owning a computer or anything you can watch videos or listen to music with.
Makes me fuckin' angry is what it does.

The UK only access might also have something to do with it being a joint venture with the discovery channel...
Either way, go through a UK proxy server and you can access it.
