With all of the fucked up iPods in the world...Apple should have some reasonable repair available. $250 for repair is out of the question....that's just lame. Why isn't there better service available for thesae shiny gadgets we spend a shitload of cash on to only last a short periodl.
I am on my 4th iPod since 2001, Best Buy stopped replacing them even though I have a 4-year warranty. I got a shuffle 4 months ago and it quit playing music, only works as a thumb drive.

jevad, that sucks dude but I think its silly to completely swear off of a company because something you used for a while broke.
If that were that case with everything then I would have to live in a shack in the middle of the woods wearing and eating nothing but leaves.

Its the same thing with Apple RAM.....everyone knows they overcharge a ridiculous amount and always have and you'd have to be an f-ing moron to ever purchase RAM from Apple.....or pay $250 to have Apple repair something that can cost $40 to repair.
Do some f-ing research next time. Knowledge is power and it will help prevent stress in a lot of situations.
If you had known from the beginning that if your iPod screws up that you can fix it for $40 and if you go through Apple it will be $250 then you wouldn't have been nearly as stressed or pissed or whatever. Educate yourself.
