Mirpour.
They do have Classic Theme
thats still temp... like the icon for the star menu will change in the classic theme
Aswell there is Aero Basic, with out gradient, transparency) etc...The WindowForm is quit nice if you ask me and works exactly as it should, you should be able to change colors etc
I hope they also put in my suggestion of being able to have round corners or not and have 3 settings of no round corners top round corners and 4 round corners also be nice to set the roundness... I also suggested to have a separate Fonts folder for system fonts unless they have a better way to separate the system fonts from the user fonts.

whats wrong with the orb start button? alot of people hate the word start beside a button and it takes up space when it dosnt have to you can edit this out with tweak ui i know but i like the ORB start button it be nice if they offered an option round or square or rectanlge but i like it... but it be cool if it looked more like a Marble with the icon inside it.

Helloworld...why DID you change your screename? mevsthem dissapeared shortly after a few people bashed your for posting so much Vista shit to the PBS.
All I know is that my work PC is has been disconnected from the internets all week because of this recent virus...they have also blocked ALL incoming graphic files. Kinda sucks when you're a designer! Oh...and before you ask...I STILL have not updated my home page!

The issues with 'security' between the OSes are not just 'how many' but how many people were hurt by the security holes.
There are no known viruses or exploits for OS X. That sums it up.
That's not saying that no one ever had bad hardware, r bad ram, or a bad harddrive, or a bad OS install - that happens. You can't completely eliminate that.I am saying that there are no security vulnerabilities on OS X that affect people or hurt them or their data.
I think we all know that is not true about windows.
The issue about "who came up with what' first is pointless. Everything has been done or thought of - we're just pushing and evolving it.
Desk Accessories became Konfabulator and Konfabulator become Dashboard. What is important is the implmentation. Apple thought of putting it into the OS with Desk Accessories and revived it with some inspiration from Konfabulator in Tiger. Windows copied them after they added it into Tiger. I guarantee they were not adding it until Apple did.
Regardless, I think widgets are lame and annoying. As for the interface - we can argue about MS ripping of Apple - but it's pointless since Apple is moving away from the glassy candy look anyway to something more refined and less saturated.
What we SHOULD argue is the usability and practicality of the features.
The app switcher, Expose, Dock and window design in OS X are all brilliant and help increase my productivity.
It remains to be seen how the UI in Vista helps users and productivity.
Honestly, I think the 'modes' in their apps are very nice - it isn't a new concept, but it IS a nice implementation - however I'm not sold on the DESIGN of the interface, just the concepts.
It seems like they're adding in 'work modes' like tabs almost - except instead of there being new documents - there are additional workspaces with separate tools to work from.
Not everything should be done with floating palettes - and redundancy across the modes for the most commonly used items is a no-brainer.
Should be interesting to see how that stuff plays out.
the GUI's design, however, is fucking ugly

meaning Google might have its services work with TiVo kinda liek Yahoo! and Rocketboom. but this would be cool cause its provided by networks.

just seems like windows is plodding behind everyone else...not leading. Feels like it's always the "oh shit, look what they did, we gotta get that too" attitude.
And for a giant cash cow like MS, that can't be good business model in the long run.

exactly and that's kind of sad. It's not that I want Windows to be bad.
Some of those features just seem useless. Seems like they want to change the start bar into a pseudo dock and as I've said the 3d switching thing locks extremly useless.but with Vista catching up with Tiger I am kind of suprised what Apple already has in the works for Leopard.
Some things are pointing to a fully resolution intependent GUI, which obviously would be a huge fucking deal

i was going to just say that this makes it look like a nice dual boot powerbook (windows and mac os) would be really nice looking...
but i am also going to say, get a life dudes...i hope you guys just use what gets your work done...then go outside.

// mac vs. pc for life
I am just bored and sleepless, don't worry.

windows crashes only when I hibernate more than a few times in a row
when I use a mac the thing just plain freezes up every couple hours
I can't believe we place so many critical processes under the direction of our wobbly technology

HelloWorld.....3 things.......
1) I don't know where you're working now but quit your current job IMMEDIATELY and go work for Microsoft. Someone as passionate as you are about it will go far with the company.
2) Its very very clear that you really are talking out of your ass when it comes to Macs.
3) Get a girlfriend or hire a hooker to suck your dick or something or maybe go kill a hobo with your barehands...whatever your poison....but man do you need to loosen up....BIG TIME!
Good luck with all of that.
