MacOS is the joke you think OS X was a big GUI leap? LOL fuck no it was the older design with nicer graphics... Vista isnt even taking advantage of what you can do in Vista because they want to have it work on more PCs MS is making a better platform to code for etc not to give you things that hog your computers resources and not be able to run on everyones computer.... you dont know what your talking about. Your that guy who goes to MacWorld and when Steve says he has something new and original for you ... you believe him HES a CON artist. When i hear that guy speak its like im hearing lie after lie... hes wanted to move to intel for years now and he lied to you with the whole switch ads etc... hes a joke and always will be just like woz telling people that every company is going in the wrong direction with the GUI he shouldnt even be speaking his time is over.

the point of Vista upgrade isnt bell and whistle features which most are included so it sells... its making a better platfrom for developers and designers to and make software for... most of you look at a icon and window which Vistas are better then MacOS X anyway but you shouldnt be looking at that to judge it. Most people dont know what they are saying when it comes to hardware and software...they just think they do...

HelloWorld,
You are a bit confused and don't back up your comments. OSX is actually MUCH more secure than Windows as it ships with without the holes that Windows does. Companies, such as McAfee, have tried to find holes in OSX, and they have been unable to find one, not a single one. The closest they got was a white paper theory of a security flaw. Now I am not saying that OSX is invincible, but for you to say that Windows is mroe secure, with it's over 500 coding security flaws discovered in 2005, man you are just off base.

I didnt say windows is more secure you dumb ass. i said it becomes more secure by having others look for more holes... just cause a company cant find holes dosnt mean tehyare not there

are you being paid by microsoft? Good Lord, man, calm down! Call off the dogs! Let us not forget I was a newspaper Tech director, and I know both systems equally well. Vista will be better, but I am waiting to see if it will be good enough. OSX, though very jobs-ian in its implementation, is built on a BSD unix core, thus making it very stable. Until XP, windows was a dual OS, running both DOS and a windows shell at the same time. Good for grandpa, bad for the power user. XP was a step in the right direction. MS needs, however, to take BIGGER steps.

Long story short, Windows ships with 5 of its ports open, open to the world. OSX does not. Pretty clear that M$ isn't that concerned about security.

just cause a person works at MS dosnt mean they back up all things they do...
i dont work at MS but just pointing that out...

So now that that's settled, chill out, and calm down the vitriol. Argue your point with facts and logic, and everyone is happy. You can be an MS supporter. I own an Xbox. Doesn't mean you get to call people dumbass who don't agree with you...

All the eye candy in the world wont help if the Windows OS doesnt fix it's fundamental flaws that are holding it back: security, organization of system files, etc. If its going to be more of the same BS with eyecandy that I probably dont need then Im sticking with OSX. But its good that the OS's are battling...it can only help us. Stagnation sucks.

Also since this is really about OSes, here is PC World's take on OSX

i called you dumb ass because u cant read... i didnt say windows is more secure i said it becomes more secure cause of the data it collects from people who tell them about holes etc... no OS is 100% secure it never will be...even the OS you live in isnt 100% because God made it that way... only he can make something 100% secure thats prob heaven

Vista icons are about 90% from Windows 2000 and 98 and 95 but with better graphics cards more details are shown... XP was just a different direction now they are just returning to Windows 2000 style on steroids...
