Dob's...you are lucky. I work M-F // 9-5 on a 4 month old XP box running the same apps I have on my 4 year old Mac at home (running 10.3.9) and I have multiple crashes a week on my XP and I have to restart my Mac maybe 2 times a year, if that. This is just my personal experience with it all.

...and I use my Mac about the same amount of hours per week as I use the XP box at work. Maybe spend 4-6 hours more a week on the XP.

I think HelloWorld was planted here by Microsoft...

might OS/2 users unite!

designaked same experience here.
windows is locking up, or giving me blue screens of death....
the locking up is far worse, like a app like illustrator or flash will just lock, and I haven't saved for a while I will sit there for 20 minutes killing processes, and scrambling to hope the program comes back...
and although it never does come back, but I still try every single time.
I am not saying that Mac's don't crash....
... but mine doesn't
mac g4 1 gig 2 gig ram
vs
p4 3.2 x800xt 2.5 gig ram
doesn't seem logical I'd pick the mac.

again in my own words, get the fuck over it
boxes make decisions using computations we don't understand just so we can see it on ever increasing liquid crystals to just say "oops, undo" and try again
there will be only 1
www.apple.com/pr/libra...you dont have to have transparancy on you can set the opacity, and everything else as if you were using photoshop. Its as if the window was outside and the weather was changing its look where the lighting hits etc...

so did you actually use Mac OS X?
- HelloWorld0
my response was to people complaining about how Vista is transparent and as if thats the only choice u have with the window form visual look, cause its not.
- RobotGunslinger0
but did you use Mac Os X for an extendented period of time?
- brundlefly0
I use both everyday.
XP and OSX
vista looks like, and I hope I am wrong, bloat onto of the bloat.
- brundlefly0
er ontop I meant.

i remember when G5 case came out and everyone made a big fuss when someone else made a alluminum case but...
mac g5 case was ripped form lian li style cases. but most people wouldnt know it...im saying mac os and apple reputation is based on lies to say mac os x has no problems and then for me to go on a mac forum and see mac users complain is just fucked...
- RobotGunslinger0
BUT did you ever use Mac OS X?
- HelloWorld0
YES iv used it. not as much as u have, iv explored it when i had the chance but i didnt buy one... iv wanted one when i saw it in pictures but when i was playing with it i found Windows to work better for me cause iv used windows since beginning, im not saying Mac OS is bad im saying its a big lie how it dosnt have problems and how its better then other OS like WinXP and how it never gets viruses or has holes...and my biggest point was that an OS is a platform not to develop on first and features are second, Vista is such a nice platform to develop on that most of those mac like features will be out within the first month or 2 of its release. You shouldnt ask MS to make a OS with more widgets but a better platform.
- RobotGunslinger0
that's all I wanted to know.
thanks.

I don't know alot about comutas as my granny liked to call them, but you're always talking about how nice it is to develop for, so could you please tell me why?
in the end it's still about classes methods, storing and retrieving data.
Isn't also widely known that the Windows Codebase is slowly getting a bit rough since they added so much since the win95 days and haven't really started fresh?
I am not saying that Vista is bad, I've used Windows all my life (yo), but when I watched the CES keynote and you've used Mac OS than some of those features just look very familiar.
god I am bored
