I used mac for a decade and switched in 1999 because I was sick of the OS9 mac world...allocating memory, should I turn on virtual memory, or not etc etc...
I went to windows and were very impressed, I used it for three years and was happy at the speed and functionality, but as windows became more so a target to hackers I got fed up and OSX was looking very interesting, so I switched back..
since the inception of OSX I have not swayed back to windows, other than my gaming system. I think I save about 1/2 hour a day not fighting spyware, malware, viruses and the constant updating.
I hope vista turns things around for M$, because it has become too volatile a world for the average home user.

I've only used Mac Os X for about three months and also have a windows box. The things is that Mac OS X just works better. I was kind of opposed to the eyecandy at first, but it's there for a reason it's not just *bling bling*. In a way it's more straightforward and I even started to fuck around with xcode a bit since apple has a nice doc section on their website.
I am not saying that Microsoft is just ripping Apple and that they're all bad, but I would wish that they would bring a few more original features to their table. Don't they also work on Adobe and Flash killers? It just seems lately that they just take on everything that is already out there try kill it with a sort of replica.
have you actually used Mac Os X for a longer period HelloWorld?

Sparkle is just an application for designers to make better looking Applications thats like in my opinion its first purpose yes its like flash but its not like it didnt bring anything new to the table, you havnt even used sparkle or know everything about flash/sparkle u cant say one is better and one contains all the innovation...eye candy is just what was on steroids cause of better graphics cards... its what you can do on that platform that matters and how long it takes you to make something on that platform Vista is alot more flexiable and the reason you dont see all that it can do is cause Vista should work on as many pcs as it can not forcing everyone to buy a new pc thats another reason basic mode is available... ITs a better platform to work on with more possiabilities.
I said i hate people looking at the icons and judging a platform from that point ov view only...

I wish.
network of 12 programmers, all doing god knows what, people leaping at the router to stop malicious email code from getting sent, scares from cnet daily, forcing our staff to use IE only for testing...
my mac is a 1 gig powerbook, and I would say I am more productive in work than I was on a PC.
mind you I do so much print stuff, I have a 60 meg tiff on the clipboard at any given time, and several programs open, I am sorry I didnt like the PC when dealing with larger files whatsoever, regardless of the amount of ram I had installed.
I did a 2.3 gig file on my mac LAPTOP, sure it took 5 mins to open the damned thing, but there wasn't a PC in our office that would even get past 22% open before saying application not responding.
MAC BABY

oh and adaware takes about 8 mins to run, norton about 15, and a standard update or patch about 5 mins to download....
and all the rebooting ugh.

Meh. They need a proofreader. And what's with all the "Coming Soon" sections? Pretty lame for one of the biggest companies in the world.

like i said i hate to read lies the way you word something is important if someone asks something stupid like what is the best... you should say ... its more honest if u say i use this i like it but here are # other ... mabe you should try the trial versions see what works better for you...or hearing from bookcover judgers...when they dont know much about the internal workings or even develop for that platform...or use the other... anyway im out... alteast there was a discussion mabe people learned something...
- dablammit0
Looks like you could use a proofreader, too, HelloWorld.

by know that they just made the OS more secure... who knows how many bad thigns there are about OS X. yes i do hate the constant warnings poping up about windows but thats not the problem as much as how long it takes me to update the OS and fix the problem which Vista does better job at... these things will not dissapear ever on any platform best way to solve it is the way you fix it and how fast u can fix it...
- HelloWorld0
by knowing that.... yeah yeah everyone could use proofreading i agree its just the time to do that wastes more time:) ... anyway good discussion..
