the old vs. new testament is like nazis vs. hippies... i have not the faintest clue how you xtians can rationalize that.
at least judism and islam are consistent!

Off topic:
thinking back to discipler saying that all things degenerate.
If that is the case Adam was blacker than Wesley Snipes.

Exodus is old testament stuff...but you know, there are a couple of different Jesus variants depending on which Gospel you read..He wasn't against saying he was bringing a sword and turning over money changing temples, So Jesus wasn't necessarily all peace and love - that said, the Jesus in the Bible is pretty non-judgemental and accepting of all kinds of social reprobates - something that many holier than though modern day christians lose me as soon as they start getting all judgemental..I'm waiting for them to remove the plank from their own eye..fat chance...

honestly pav it is hard to process, but if you truly look at it without and bias, either good or bad, but dive in and see what its all about then you would have a better conception if its "right" or "wrong" but just looking at it and reading a few things here and there doesn't really give it justice.. you know what i mean? i hope that made sense

Slavery is all over the OT. You would think a moral God would have told those people that owning another person is wrong.
- discipler0
pavlov (Kuz), it's clear that you are just yanking everybody's chain in order to get a rise. Even a child knows that you can't pull "proof-texts" out of the OT like that and do anything productive. You show a gross misunderstanding of the language, culture, customs and a God who dealt with a primitive nomadic people as their stubborn wills would have him. What you have done is demonstrated for everyone how NOT to read the Bible. Thanks. :)
Oh, on your slavery canard:

I know for a fact that pavlov is not kuz, we are from the same city.

"something that many holier than though modern day christians lose me as soon as they start getting all judgemental..I'm waiting for them to remove the plank from their own eye..fat chance..."
We're all human and I agree that many believers have planks in their eyes. Don't let a couple bad examples ruin your experience if your truly seeking Christ. Take it up with the Man himself.

Ah, he must have gone to the Kuz school of feeble button pushing and out of context quotations.

pppfttttt....
slavery is flat out endorsed in the ten commandments.
"Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbor's."
post that in your fucking courtroom, not some contemporary edit.
sorry, but you and all absoluteist religions?
totaly full of shit.
- mrdobolina0
Ive noticed that a lot of christians would like to forget about the OT.
- Momentum0
i don't! with out the OT we wouldn't realize what Jesus is doing. =)
- yarsrevenge0
what is your stance on the death penalty? Is it consistent with your view on life being precious for unborn children?
Muahahaha.

The New Testament is simply the fulfillment of the old. Christ was the missing piece of the puzzle in Jewish law. So the Ten Commandments and everything else in the OT still stands with the exception of things Jesus specifically revolutionized, like sacrificing bulls and food considered clean or unclean...
The harsh world of the OT pointed toward a single divine sacrifice that would nullify the need for further sacrifices.

political forgery!
