I had to pause at the recent court decision over Intelligent Design and ask myself, "When is design not intelligent?"

when you claim everything just appeared 6000 years ago?

"when you claim everything just appeared 6000 years ago? "
Science zing's religion once again.

"When is design not intelligent?"
when religious zealots try to convince the rest of the world of their beliefs.

To find out exactly what Intelligent Design is and is not, (as opposed to the unhelpful nonsense by uninformed people like those posting in this thread), read this:

...and you actually raise an interesting point, heartandsoul. Believe it or not, there are many who believe that the design that you and I witness daily in nature and biological systems, is purely illusory. In fact, this is the essense of Darwinian Naturalism - that an unguided, purposeless, mindless (unintelligent) mechanism produced all of the design that we see all around us.
A belief which is not for those of little faith. ;)

You know, I've been on here a long time, and I don't say much when it comes to religion, but I really can't stand when people say 'religious zealots', or start mocking people's religious beliefs.
Grow up. These threads have been on forever, and if you really had an idea of how annoying it is to hear you people say "Science zings religion yet again", or " when religious zealots try to convince the rest of the world of their beliefs."
It's just so obvious that you're being hypocritical and unscientific at the same time.
I'm a Christian, and have never once forced my beliefs on anyone.
I find myself having to defend myself often in boards and creative communities because everyone has this ridiculous stereotype that religious people are 'zealots'.
It's annoying having to sit in group conversations and having to pretend as if I'm not a Christian.

twooh,
let me tell you this.
we(mankind, earth, the universe) its a coincidence.when we die it is over, there is nothing else.
there was no jezus christ and if there was he was a terrorrist like bin laden is today.
i loath organized religion, it controlled my little town whre i grew up..so far that the pastor, when my parents divorced, said my mother was in a cult. the religous board of the town(or what called it) spread viccious rumor about my mother( the kindest person i know)...is this religion...religion has sparked almost as much wars than greed has and often it has gone paired with it.i really get the shivers when people are talking about intelligent design...it sends us back to the dark ages...
if there is a reason of evlution its more 'instinctive design'
the instinct to survive thrives the evolution..no higher purpose...if you believe and god and all thats fine, actually the bible is a nice book if people didn't took it LITERALLY.
bah..i'm outta here..just to say catholics ruined my life when i was growing up..in my town( the pastor) and in bordng school(the monks who where supposed to monitor us, but just where a bunch of frustratedd losers.)
if you wanna believe, believe in yourself or the man/woman next to you.

tank, I don't believe I've read so much ignorance in a single post. It's frightening. Talk about "fundamentalism".
Twooh, when the uninformed use tired rhetoric like "science zings the bible" etc... blah blah, they are merely regurgitating the pseudo-enlightenment drivel that their academic and political gurus have fed them. They haven't actually objectively looked at the issues and what Bible believers say/teach. It's intellectual dishonesty and amusing, really. Don't let such foolishness get to you. Just engage those who are honestly seeking.

disicpler.
i come from a very religious background. it does more damage than good. simple as that.
just flip out every history book.it proves my point.
you wanker.
- discipler0
tank, no need for petty name calling. Religion doesn't do any good for anybody. People need Jesus - a person, a savior.
And history points to the immutable truth that Christ is exactly who He said he was.
Let me suggest you spend a little more time in the history books. Perhaps start with the works of Josephus.
- tank020
i'ver read the dead sea script rolls
jezus was a terrorist .simple as that.i probanly know more than the bible than you.i was raised whit it.
you right about the namecalling.sorry about that?
- tank020
on the topic; some morrisey

here's my response to above perceptions:

my own words

gramme,
in my first post i said the problem is that people take the bible literally.(or the koran, thora..)
so i totaly agree with first writer 's letter actually.
at the core, religion is a good thing..they all give a good ethical path to follow.
but why i hate a bout religion is what man has made of it...a means to tear down another man just because of hi sbeliefs
and people should understand that for example in the bible, when jezus cures the blind..you don't take that liteerally, its a parabel..
but about jezus, you can't really believe the bible on this one eh..thats a fanbook written by his disciples...the other sources from that era depict a slightly different image of the son of god...
and i am sorry if i expressed my self rather harsh, thats just me.
