my cousin works for the NBA in europe and they're much more concerned with image there since they are opening new franchises and trying to promote the sport.

so what if allen iverson has to dress up? maybe it'll change his borish behavior.

(Oct 18 05, 15:00)Do you honestly think the way he dresses will change his behavior? Someone can fall off a motorcycle and crack their skull open and still choose to ride without a helmet. It makes no difference.

(Oct 18 05, 15:32)it creates an aire of civility, why do you think the military makes soldiers wear uniforms? it helps force behavior. that guy will still be a jackass, but if players are forced to look professional, then they may act as such. the nba has to put the smack down, remember the brawl that had players running into the stands decking fans?
- fusionpixel0
So yeah, let's all start wearing suits. So maybe instead of joining gangs, kids will learn the ropes of tax evasion and insider trading. Yipee.

-----you will be suprised of how much change you will make if you try to change the way you dress.
I dont expect YOU to change, for what you have said so far I see you are well set in your idea that dressing casual wont make a different in some one's life. But just keep in mind that for a reason the NBA made the change, if they didnt believe it was necessary Do you think they have implemented it in the first place?
Honestly i have never seen a person at the top of a corporation dress like crap and still be of good influence to the younger generation. It just depends of what you want to acomplish in life and what you want to leave behind to other people.
I wont discuss the subject any further because in the end is our opinion only and it wont change the ruling NBA has made. But IMHO i am glad they have made the change and it might not show right now but i hope everyone can see it in the long run.

the way a person dresses, attention to hygiene etc absolutely influence the way they act. look it up.

yes. no question about that.
- mrdobolina0
to say that the brawl at that NBA game last year stems from the players sideline dress code is fucking ridiculous.
- uberdesigner0
I didn't say the brawl was caused by poor dress. It was caused by shitty attitudes. Are you learning disabled?
- mrdobolina0
uber, are you just constantly an asshole?
how will the attitude change by starting a dress code?

(Oct 18 05, 15:43)You have that backwards. The ways someone acts and thinks will influence how they dress, but not the other way around. You can stick me in a rabbit costume and I'm not going to start hopping around. I'm just going to tell you to get that furry fluff off of me.
I'm not sure why you guys keep trying to apply Darwin's theory of evolution to clothing.

Well they're even making Steve Nash not dress in jeans and a t-shirt on the way to the game. Just walking from his car to the building before the game he needs to be dressed business casual. So no, I don't think it's racially driven, although, he is from Canada.

you two should stick with photoshop and leave the thinking to others
- Point50
If clothes make the person, then maybe the fans should be required to wear suits as well so they learn how to f*ckin behave when spectating a sport that they are incapable of playing.
The only bad thing about that brawl is the wrong guy got punked out in the stands.
- mrdobolina0
let's make a bet that the problems the NBA has with image won't change by starting this dress code, uber.
- mrdobolina0
do you think that MLB should ban chewing tobacco, uber?
It is not good for the league's image, is it?
- mrdobolina0
that's what I fucking thought.
- lvl_130
haha!
- uberdesigner0
it will take time for any change in the league, but a dresscode is a good start
yes I think mlb should ban chewing tobacco
and yes, I think you are subintelligent
- mrdobolina0
IMHO, I think you should eat a dick.
