Get felt stickers made. Stick'em on the cards. Voila.
Order the damned thing in two parts:
1) felt sticker logo
2) plain ass (and thus cheap) cardstock business cards with all the other necessary info.Then have someone do the biatch work to apply the sticker. Then each card will have a semi-unique placement of "felt"... and it is thus, with feeling. :^)

nah, that'd be shit - cut the logo out of the felt (using your left hand with both eyes closed), now staple the felt piece to the card piece (using your right foot) and make a potato print of your details and whack em on the card, underneath the felt. Do it all in a darkroom and send them out by carrier pidgeon. Voi fucken la

Cost is an issue (isnt it always) wanna do something really cheap but that people have perhaps not seen before, hence this idea. All the other things mentioned are ideas weve had but are too expensive in the grand scheme of things.
The sticker does stay stuck, but yeah, storage is an issue, but, who keeps cards for refernece anyways, if you impressed by a card youll keep it, and store the details on your pda/comp/phone/database.

David, check out 'flocking' its an old technique that gives a felt type finish to anything. they used to do it on wallpaper years back.
I've got a stockphoto book here someone sent me, really nice and then have used embossing on it too

Yeah, got some sample of that stock here, its called 'curious touch'. things is with that...
1. they wouldnt be handmade
2. they wouldnt be as memorable
3. peeps have used that stock before.Im kinda liking the idea of what ive got going on, they are so unique and feel great to hold, plus they are cheap as chips to make and would def. be memorable IMO.
anyways to improve em though, what about using a larger sticker to almost cover one side, ala a fabric swatch, or using zig zag scissors to mimick a fabric swatch?

I would think it would be rad if it was within a plastic frame so it can be put in to a wallet easily but the felt feature is still there in the center. Gives people things to play with and stuff and shit and that.

thanks everyone, good solid advice as usual. maybe this ones a go-er, we have stock cards just on uncoated card to send out to any old joe, but we might use these sparingly when the opportunity arises tog ive em to peeps who will appreciate them. Cheers

Also, what is this argument that if a business card isn't "business card" size or if it isn't easy to put into a wallet, then it isn't a good card?
Do we really think people are that dumb? They have pockets, you know. Imagine all the pockets people must have on them at one time. Plenty. I never stick business cards in my business card wallet space anyway, I stick it in with my notes or just in my pocket, otherwise they just stay there as decoration.
Felt = nice, I would probably fold it up or something
