I think it's extreamly melodic, overly sensitive punk.
I always took real punk to be offensive, grimy, dirty, i dont giva f*ck music. Whereas most of what people consider to be punk now is mostly rock, pop-punk, poppy doodle punk, post punk, skunky punk, rockabilly or emo. it pissed me off when Billy Idol was calling himself punk and then going on stage in his chaps and howeling Mony Mony... i think that helped open the door to all of these frightening punk spin-offs.

green day emo? blink emo? this is really getting confusing. on top of that you also have emo core! wtf is that then? imo emo is just teeny rock but w/ depressing lyrics and the entire band always look like designers (you know the 2 sizes too small t-shirt w/ cool but meaningless graphic, the fashionable unfashionable long hair covering 1 eye and on top of that the absent i'm too kool for skool look).

I was young boy during Billy's reign. Don't get me wrong, I hold high appreciation for White Wedding and some other tunes... but after Mony Mony he just headed south. And I know of this Generation X you speak of. They have tribal tattoos, goate's, and a fetish for all that is Starwars. But what does this have to do with anything?!
