I'm personally glad it doesn't have an orca or a mountian in it. Both are tired images out here. Every second logo seems to have one or the other.
I thought the excution was a little weak. The smiling green box is lame.
Its a not the worst thing in the world.

yeah, I don't like it. Xrtions, I thought your submission was stellar, it really impressed me the first time I saw it.
As for the one selected, perhaps I'm living in Ontario but it looks to me like they're holding the olympics in Whitehorse, not Vancouver.

coming from Vancouver i think it represents the theme quite well.

the olympic ring guidelines say that you cant put the logo a within a certain distance (something like, half of 1 ring) from any design elements, so its really hard to make them fit together, they basicly want the rings to remain independant from the emblem

I wonder if they made any revisions to the winning logo after it was chosen or not?
I liked xrtions but the maple leave is also over used and doesn't really speak about the people of our Nation.

but wow...I'm just soooo disappointed. with the contest to design it, and all the good promising prototypes I've seen here and earlier, I thought it would be better. It's going to be 2010. It's just so..... silly.

Totally, I think it works as maybe a team Canada Olympic symbol but its not really that original of an idea.
