Protein shakes are one of the greatest supplements ever. Myoplex and MetRX are great products, but if I limit my Meal Replacement shakes unless I'm on a serious diet. My two favorite protein supplements are:
Isopure (the bottled, ready-to-drink kind) http://www.naturesbest.com/
and Champion Nutrition's whey protein http://www.champion-nutrition.co…Keep your diet clean, limit fat and heavy carbs to the morning, increase your protein intake as the day goes on, take a multi vitamin, drink tons of water.
The rest depends on what type of results it is that you're looking for.

Just re-read your post and you said you want to bulk-up. So I'm going to assume that you're a pretty lean guy. When I'm looking to put on muscle mass, I take in at least 400-500g of protein a day. Carb up really good in the first half of the day (not with sugars, but oatmeal, potatoes, brown rice) to prep myslef for my heavy workouts. Train everything like this:
big muscle = big weight
less reps, more weight; but don't go so high in weight that you loose your form and put yourself at risk of injury. Use a spotter and stretch well and or do cardio ( a limited amount) after the lifting portion of your workout. And still water water and more water; keep those kidneys flushed.

what point said.
make goals for yourself.
bad goal: lose weight and get bigger.
good goal: by april 22nd i will lose 10lbs of fat, 1 inch from my waistline and gain 30lbs on my bench press.or whatever. detailed goals will work better than the general ones. also set nutrition goals.
good goal: i will eat 6 healthy meals a day that include 2 protein shakes and sunday i will have 2 small cheat meals, 1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon.
good luck.
p.s. what point said. spot on.

I worked with a girl who used to brag like mad about being on the Atkins diet.
I think she was blind, though, because you could literally see her getting larger week by week.
