YOU answer it discipler
YOU tell me if there was only JUST enough space for every animal in the world (tee hee hee) and that 43,500 m3 is enough to contain every animal in the world (tee hee hee), how the fuck did it support an ecosystem for the whole duration of the flood? (tee hee hee)
and musle tends to turn to jelly if they aren't excercised. So there was running space for the cheetah's aswell right? (tee hee hee)

how in the fack can you believe in noahs ark?
- Kuz0
oh wait, i know what u can do discpler. Link some more scientifical questionable sites that use selective information and distorted facts, and, maybe, tell me to read a few long winded books
*get out clause

That has got to go in the anthology!

that's the problem with religious fundamentalist nut cases like discipler. They don't allow the poetic, symbolic interpretation of the bible or other relgious texts. It has to be literally true, so yes, the flood covered the ENTIRE earth, and all known species in the planet which can only survive in certain ecosystems were on board.
Didn't you know Noah developed the first freezers to put the polar bears in? (tee hee hee)

Kuz.
God is outta time.
Noah was a time-traveller and took all the DNA on the "boat" - which was actually an interstella space ship carrying the human seed to Earth to see if a fresh start would better than the other flop that was the first creation in another time in another place.
Solved.

Relgion has only came about to control poeple and to try to answere things we didn't know or dont know now.
did u see who wrote the bible on C4 over christmas?
- madeGB0
There was a very good documentary on the BBC over christmas, about who wrote the bible. I think it would answer alot of q's people ask, not only of christianity, but of the jewish and muslim faiths.
Remember that an ark has been found in the upper reigns of iraq (the place where eden was meant to have been)However natural occurences in the old world was often put in a context in which a modern society would not understand.

I also found a chalice burried under my foundation last year. They found a boat,BFD!! people sure love to be teathered with strings.

Kuz, you're right, I'm sure that Dr Jonathan D. Sarfati, B.Sc. (Hons.), Ph.D., F.M. Creationist Physical Chemist and Spectroscopist is just a kook.
Every objection you have raised has been thoroughly treated and answered. It requires research that you are not willing to do. Research that would reveal to you what the true meaning of the Hebrew word for "kind" means in Genesis in reference to the species. Research that would reveal what species (from a non-evolutionary world view) existed at that time and actually boarded the ark. See, there are all manner of interesting revelations of truth... but, it requires research. Research that some are willing to do, but others don't care enough about.
See, that's the problem with the Secular Humanist/fundamentalist. They would prefer to make accusations based on lingering children's stories that they remember from youth and a western predisposition to see the supernatural as "superstition" rather than reading what a passage actually says in the original text/language/culture and then digging a little deeper to do an honesty study of the historical, geological evidence that is available.

discpler... I truely feel sorry for you.
And don't come back at me with " Iam am sorry for you my son because u are lost"
I am content
You are a very distorted, sad. sheltered and dilusional.
Good Luck with trying to explain and push your life on others.

nice way not to answer ANY of my questions discpler.
i saw that series on C4. It was quite enlightening. And it is true that the myths of the people of Judae that were the foundations of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam have fundations in certain ecological catastrophes, and (semi)true myths that have various pagan sources (including the Babylonian Gilgamesh epic which lends itself to many old testament tales). But a christian fundamentalist, like discipler, believe in the literal truth of a text that was put together over thousands of years, that borrowed from all these myths, and were clearly used for political gain. That's the problem.
You ask me to do research? I have been reading those sites you've just provided, and holy shit if they aren't taking things out of context and trying to fit circumstantial evidence into preconceived ideas - not to mention completely ignoring things that they find inconvenient.
Do YOU know the answers to my questions?
if so - YOU answer them, in your own words. And not this pseudo scientific jargon you're trying to palm off to me. And i have seen the geological evidence. But ofcourse, school, university, books, and all the documentaries i've seen have lied to me :)
- danthon0
did noah save the insects too?
- Kuz0
you see discpler, i was born in a strict muslim household. It was really hard finding out all those childhood fairy tales weren't exactly the way my parents told me. And I'm not an idiot, I took my information from people I respect from my own judgement that i trust. And please don't fucking patronise me as a secular Humanist/Fundamentalist.
- Kuz0
and don't call me a fundamentalist either. I don't believe in fundamental truth. Unlike. You're the only fundamentalist round here, since you're the only one who believes in the fundamental truth of the bible.
Fun Da Mental!
- discipler0
Kuz, no need to get hostile. A couple of things...
First, there is a science to the reading and interpretation of the Bible. It is called Hermeneutics. This dictates how different texts are to be treated. The Bible contains historical narritive, poetry, allegorical writing, etc... There are certain factors that guide one in how to approach the different books. The Flood account in Genesis is to be approached as a literal historical narritive, if one is apply the proper Hermeneutic.
As for answering your objections. Why would I spend time and energy typing a dissertation on the Hebrew words for "kind" and "replenish", the species believed to be in existance at the time, the old earth/young earth conundrum and the like, when A: I doubt you'd even read it and B: I can easily refer you to a more comprehensive treatment by an actual Hebrew Scholar? I don't see how this in
any way would discredit my view.I did not grow up in a religious home. I grew up embracing secular ideals and general skepticism about God. As I've stated many times in this forum, it was through an honest, objective and intellectual approach to the claims of Christianity, that I came to Christ and to believing that the Bible is 100% true. Just like countless other intelligent people have. I recognize that it is easier for people like yourself to compartmentalize people like myself into easy to understand caricatures like "Christian Fundamentalist", but I'm afraid it's not that simple.
Answersingenesis.com is one of a few very reliable and highly regarded resources on Biblical Archaeology and the Biblical basis for modern science. Don't be intimidated by intelligent people with big degrees who believe that the Bible is literally true. After all, there are lots of them. And feel free to check their credentials (not that they count for much). If you are really interested in these topics, do an objective study of what both sides have to say. I think you'll find why more and more thinkers are embracing the Biblical record.
