hello paraselene.
yes, hiroshima mon amour is my favourite film. I love Alain Resnais and Chris Marker.
Have you seen it?

Mon Amour is the hottest site.

I hear that the bible is everywhere - and there is a chance that all the stories may be mistaken as fact.

Most historical volumes that are accepted as fact beyond dispute were compiled several centuries after the events recorded, and were only hand copied 7 to 10 times and those copies are riddled with incosistencies. Again, these are the volumes which we accept as historical fact.
Compare the Bible: Over 120 hand written copies and written only as late as 150 years after Christ. Only inconcsistencies with simple conjunctions like "and" instead of "with", or absence of a definite article like "The". None of which impact any teaching or doctrine. Remarkable consistency.
...yet, those who are biased against it call into question it's miraculous reliability. Get the facts people.

yes but is it not ironic (literary) that a Cardinale thinks people will believe books so easy, just like the bible is a book he expects people to believe so easy?
- discipler0
hiroshima, some do not shrug off the Bible as just a "book". Many are convinced that it's God's word and is life changing.
- chossy0
I think it is called faschism. You know believe my books but burn and ban the others didn't hitler and pol pot do this kind of thing?. Burning books etc.
- hiroshima0
yes many are convinced that. Just as many are conviced Da Vinci code is true!
That is i think ironic, when a Cardinale says it.
- discipler0
The Da Vinci Code is a fiction novel and does not claim to be any more than that. Anyone who accepts it as fact is to be pittied. It is poorly borrowed fiction from 3rd and 4th century Gnostic writings which have long since been debunked. That's really all. I have no idea why Catholics are so concerned. A simple study of the claims will reveal just how errant it is.

exactly jees louise I would put all my faith into a book written by four people.

Moses dividing the seas is like, totally factual, like.

STOP TURNING THIS INTO A GOT DAMN RELIGION THREAD!
*goes back and reads topic
ah FUCK!
- discipler0
Right its like all bunk... and that wouldn't be because we have a post-modern western mindset prejudice against anything remotely supernatural because, hey, "i ain't never seen nothing like that happen."?
- hiroshima0
yes, Ironic! because Da Vinci's auteur also thinks his book is BASED on certain facts about the book of Mary Magdalene (which was found buried and carbon dated in the desert - fact!).
It is Ironic, the two people are saying, believe THIS fact and believe THIS fact.
How about, i believe neither?.
- hiroshima0
hehehe, discipler, that is not post-modern, that is typical modernism. It is you who are being post-modern with the relativism (if we believe other old history evidence therefore we should believe bible etc.)
- discipler0
um, hiroshima please document where you got your "fact". Because that is false. Those writings that make the errant claims about Mary Magdalene are verified Gnostic heresy written centuries after she lived.
