This is stupid semantics. For people to be suggesting 'alternative' terms is ridiculous. One word for all.
If two people want to be together, and have the same legal standing as a man and woman are married, our gov't should not have a word to say. Not a single word.

Does anyone else ever ponder how by the end of our life times we'll see a dramatic decrease in the amount of religious fundamentalism with a political agenda?
I mean, following the trend it has for quite some time, we can at least expect issues like cloning, abortion, and gay marriage to have fewer and fewer opponents as ol' Time takes its Toll.
