Nice Bluejam.

Did I mention that this is the worst film ever made.
Oh yeah, I did.

I finally got to see this moving film. I do not have much to say, for just like Yosemite, the Pieta, or St. Peter's Bascilica, you just have to see it...
Briefly, to address the criticisms of violence and prejudice: they are both wrong and way off.
B/c of the hype surrounding the violence, the film seemed rather docile compared to the hype. It is not pornographic violence by any means. In fact, From Dusk till Dawn, Blade, and a host of other "art" films are much bloodier. The blood and violence was never gratuitous and never without purpose. As a student of History, I can only say that in depicting such an event accurately, the brutishness and extensive 'savageness' of the time is quite accurate. Though, I still found the violence quite mild compared to the hype.
As for the prejudice, all I can say is see the movie and pay attention to the second to very last scene. At the end, Mary is sending a very distinct and powerful message with her eyes, once you watch you'll understand.
So, go see it...

I couldn't care less for "the passion of christ".
If you know anything about films, then you have to be aware of that all a filmmaker does, is creating a faux reality that is sometimes so well crafted that we are tricked into it.
There is nothing wrong with this, but at a time where a president tells his country that he had an encouter with god....a claimed to be genuine cinematic rendition of the passion of christ by mel gibson just seems a bit wrong.

I'm glad Jesus was not about religion.

what about the crucifixion of the Earth?
.......something we can watch, get mad at, and act upon. (in numbers)
families flock to this film to create more emotional scar tissue when they should WAKE THE FUCK UP

one sentence:
"god is dead" F. Nietzsche

A text out of context becomes a pretext...
...and almost always... for error.

To complete jg_2s post
God is dead.-Nietzsche
Nietzsche is dead.-God
- Mimio0
Even more accurately put:
Nietzsche is alive as much as God.

- froww0
Even more accurate...
1. Mimio & Nietzsche are both spiritually dead.
2. Mimio may freely receive spiritual life although, Nietzsche seems to have lost his opportunity.
- Mimio0
Froww, you only think that about me because you're arrogant and fanatically attached to a belief system. I don't wish such a death upon you. Even if I shared your beliefs, I would seriously doubt your motives and enlightenment on matters of the human spirit. My point about Neitzche and "God" was that both their legacies are thoughts and ideas, not some superstitious idea about an afterlife.
- junetic0
'god' did not have some legacy on thought and ideas Mimio...He didnt write the bible...man did...since you are so smart and 'trust your brain' so much i guess you dont believe in some 'superstitious idea about an afterlife'....as stated way above in this thread...its just a matter of faith...intellectualize it all you want...although your pseudo-intellectual logic is lame...go hail Neitzche....
