this is site is totally complete but (ie: the forms are not functional), but what would you have charged for this site? just wondering and then i'll tell if you if i got raped or not. peace.

i dunno.. seems pretty basic, def. under 500$
- elwolverton0
that's ridiculous, tfs
- tfs__mag0
what? there is no interactive features... the whole site shouldn't take more than a few hours to throw together... did i miss part of the site or something? no flash, no database driven/scripted features.. basic layout... i'd say at 500$ it would work out to right around 75$-100$ dollars an hour for that. (unless i completely overlooked part of the site)
- nuggler0
it's going to be more than $500 with all that flash. Seems to be missing some content - like where are the girls!? - but with what's there, I would say more like $2000
On the other hand, I have a client who wants a site like this and $500 is about what he's willing to pay. Maybe I should send him your way.
- elwolverton0
i think you did. did you click on the left square or the right square?
the left one is FULL of flash
- nuggler0
"enter site" on the left side, for the flash stuff
- tfs__mag0
oops, i did miss part of the site.. my bad...
i'm not a flash developer so i don't know what the going rate is
for flash work.... i would imagine it's about the same as scripting db stuff (what i do). around 50-75$ an hour.figure out how much time you spent on it and go from there.
- IRNlun60
the whole site seems to be made in flash. I'm not sure what you should charge because I'm not sure how long it took you, but definetly not $500. Consider how much you need to live with in a month and go from there.
- nuggler0
the more I look the higher your fee gets. Is content updated dynamically? maybe $4k
- qaddisin0
spent the better half a year on the site. the events area is an xml file. easy to update. the forms will be php. was going dynamic with logins (mysql) but the client def. could not pay that. highest i heard was only 4k. wow.
- elwolverton0
I would definitely say more than 4k. But I don't know just how much more coz I've never invested that kind of time on a site.
- IRNlun60
6 months of all the work you put into that site, both dynamic and static versions I would easly say $10K+. If he's only offering 4k, then yes, you are getting raped.

is this for school?
- qaddisin0
no this isn't for school. been out of school for a year now, surviving by freelancing, still looking for a full time gig. your site is real cool mrdinky, love the folio, real style in your work. peace. overall i only got paid 3 g's for the site :(

3000 is better than nothing.. or less
keep it up
- abizzyman0
for those of you who said $500 and under...
... ya'll should be ashamed of yourselves for undercharging for the simple human aspect of talent & skill.
First of all - undercharging like this HURTS US and shows a complete lack of experience in the freelance world.
A site such as this - if only flash and no backend stuff still wouldn't go for no less than $15k (actually - double that) at the studio I work for.
Now - as a freelancer - you don't have the option to charge accordingly as most clients know you don't have the overhead of a studio and therefor you're forced to lower prices... but don't... DON'T abuse the rest of us by forcing our prices down to nothing.
- jpolk0
you guys are crazy. if the site actually looked good, on a freelance basis, maybe 5 grand.
- instantok0
jpolk: i agree
- abizzyman0
here here, jody.
... even jody's site is worth more than $500.
;)
