I met and shook Phil Lesh's hand today. Was returning from lunch in Soho and I was late to a meeting. I was walking with a coworker when I saw Phil Lesh pass me on the street. I said "PHIL" loudly as though I had seen a friend who I hadn't seen in awhile. He turned around and I extended my hand and told him what a huge fan I was and thank you for all the music. We both turned around and went about our business.
My coworker asked if that was a friend from college or something. I said no, that was Phil Lesh. I'm not the type to ask for a photo or autograph or anything but this was the most star struck I've ever been.
