^ stores throw out merchandise and food, sometimes even destroy it so it can't be used. there are welfare services in most major cities who will collect this food (and other stuff like clothes) and distribute it to the needy. high-end restaurants and grocery stores, for instance, throw away tons of perfectly fine food, except it's not suitable for their needs anymore.

today i started designing for BMW. it looks like i am going to be the senior designer for their product development for all cut and sew products. w00t!! i am still the head of design for Swiss Gear. hopefully juggling both wont make me burnt out. oi!!

yesterday we hired an industrial designer to design the hardware parts of the luggage's.. on his first day yesterday, the brand manager gives him a 27" LED Samsung monitor to use for his workstation as a secondary monitor.
the VP of the company was in the design room at the time and explains to the new hire, that this was a welcome gift to him.
the new hire misunderstood.. and took the monitor home thinking it was his to keep as a welcome to the company gift..
he also took home the installer CD of Rhino & SolidWorks as he also thought it was a gift for him to take home, versus him installing on his new workstation.
oi.. and he claimed to be a senior designer..
now what company out there does this sort of thing???
