Ok, with the Pacifist App I was able to reinstall Safari 5.
Everything else seems to be running smooth.

Mountain Lion is simply Lion with the kinks out; nothing groundbreaking just edits & alterations...
Fast & refined though...
Top 5 new features:
1. Safari 6.0 - Google Chrome-like but with Apple polish.
2. Airplay Mirroring - Mirror your laptop to your Apple TV - enabled flat screen. This is massive & a no brainer addition.
3. Notification Centre - Already miss Growl, but this unifies things from Mobile to Desktop for better or worse.
4. Messages - Finally a non-beta seemingly stable version of a tool I've come to rely on to speak to friends & family alongside FaceTime.

So is it worth paying £20 or I better spend it in random apps?
- It's cheaper than a pizza so yesanimatedgif
- If you see it that way - but I normally pay a tenner for the most awesome pizza you can ever have... in London : (
maikel - lol @ good pizza in londonmonospaced
- Well it's actually £13.99 not £20.
And a Dominos Medium with dips that you'd foolishly order drunkanimatedgif - drunk is about £15+ and it's certainly better than that.animatedgif
- Mac OS X Pizzaset
- focken great pizza here

i'm really liking iMessages, reminders - and the dictation to text has been hugely helpful for me...
the only thing that's throwing me so far is the loading bar in safari... the way it shoots across like something's being thrown out the side of the screen irks me.
- It looks much faster this way, tiresome in the long run.raf

Did it deactivate all non-OS fonts on install?
- bjladams0
no- seems my fonts are still all here.

Can someone explain why I need an @me email address in iCloud to sync notes between iOS devices and the computer?
- mg330
Also - the new messaging app - shouldn't this sync up and show existing conversations in iMessage on my phone?
- animatedgif0
@mg33
You only need that till iOS6 I think. iOS5 only supported syncing via MobileMe which it did in a weird way via the email system. It's a bit of a joke it's taken them so long to sort that shit out,

the message is good - but i hadn't read far enough in to know that it was updating my phone and ipad too... was in the middle of a business conversation when all of a sudden my name/avatar started spitting out random things. things like "who are you?" "can i help you?"
turns out my wife has the iPad - and she's at work and not understanding all these messages that keep popping up. confused my client, and myself too.

I have a 2011 MBP and it was already fast as hell with an SSD, but seems like this new OS is a bit faster. I like.

@honest & others...
Hiss
"Hiss is an OSX app that forwards notifications from Growl enabled apps to Notification Center in Mountain Lion."
- Easy peasy boys (& girl)...ideaist
- +1 -- Nice find!Crack_Junkie
- cool, but things will be better once apps support notification center themselvesernexbcn

Another tidbit if you don't have it, but have undiagnosed O.C.D...
SizeUp
"SizeUp allows you to quickly position a window to fill exactly half the screen (splitscreen), a quarter of the screen (quadrant), full screen, or centered via the menu bar or configurable system-wide shortcuts (hotkeys). Similar to "tiled windows" functionality available on other operating systems."
