"FBI spokesman Jason Pack said it did not appear the incident was related to terrorism."
WTFFFFFFFFFF???
He had a gun and intended to kill many people, but it's not terrorism?

For all the people who will drop the inevitable "Guns don't kill people, people kill people" argument I have a proposition: We'll lock you in a closed room with a monkey who has a loaded assault rifle. If your willing to sit in the room with said armed monkey for four hours I will concede your point.

The suspects name is James Holmes. I know what your thinking, that sure is a strange name for an Muslim. He's even a member of the Tea Party http://denverteaparty.ning.com/p…

what is sad also is the fact that we see similar events so often that many people are being desensibilized about it. we are overflowed with images and news all the time... that make all of those images and news less important.
Its like a gold nugget in an ocean of rocks versus the same nugget on the floor of an empty room.

Things like this make me hate one very simple thing: we've seen them before. You can't help but feel numb to emotion about things like this. Think about the first tragic thing you saw in your life that wasn't directly related to you. I'm guessing for many of us it was the Challenger explosion in 1986. Add on everything awful that's happened in the world since then. I don't know if its cynicism like GeorgesII said above, but horrible things like this, I don't know why my mind thinks "doesn't surprise me" as opposed to instant sympathy and emotion. I don't know... I just think that with all the access we have to information, it becomes more instantly known when people do horrible things with tragic results. My heart totally goes out to these people and their families. Just sitting there watching a movie and then all hell breaks loose.

Did you guys hear about that old man that just decided to mow down all those pedestrians a few years back and then that guy who ran over all those bicyclists last year or so during a race, both with a car?
So, because of the irresponsible actions of these drivers, all vehicles should be destroyed and made illegal.

"So messed up. Glad Colorado has the death penalty still."
What use is it? If you go pout to do this sort of thing then you're prepared to be shot that day yourself.
Permanent suicide watch so they have to stew on their actions for the rest of their life is way better than death penalties.

"that guy who ran over all those bicyclists last year or so during a race, both with a car?"
It wasn't during a race, it was during a protest where cyclists purposely fill the entire street and ride painstakingly slowly. Acting like a bunch of douche bags entirely on purpose.
